I had to go to DC with a fricken chinese tour company with a bunch of exchange students on the bus from some art school and they sang chinese songs the entire way and wouldn't even let me sleep on the bus :hmm:

We do. Well, I do :lol: I try not to use it too much because it sounds...derogatory, imo. But its true...
 
i was born here but i'm pretty fluent in mandarin. it's hard to understand "ping ying" on the computer. so without the characters its kind of hard to know what ppl are writing.
 
Heh...I speak some cantonese! typing's a bit weird...my bro's done it before though...and usually i understand what he's trying to type to me through IM lol. but other times its like...huh?

yeah. most people i know just make it up. when we see people who actually know Pin Yin i have a hard time reading some words, especially those that start with "x".
