Where is everyone?

sci-fi-dude

1963, 1899 called they want every thing back....
I noticed quite a few hobby related forums being empty like an old western towne. I work odd hours so I can hop on here as much as I can. I see Tom is a good solid forum bro, but it seems like the rest have vanished? Btw thanks Tom for the Sci-fi helmet infos! I like the Etsy one, so I will be placing an order. I hope no negative vibes keep good sci-fi folks from enjoying this or any forum. Keep on being sci-fi fans everyone! Its a great hobby! Sci-fi-dude!:einstein:

Discussion forms have taken a hit in general.
Phones are hard to use to make forum posts.
They work okay for reading but not for posting.
Not many people on a pc anymore.

Plus, its summer here and a lot of people are out doing things.
I'm disabled and essentially homebound.
I have time to post. Plus it is easy for me with a full keyboard.

Glad you found something you like.
Makes me feel good that I could help you out - Thanx!

Still drop by when I find the time, as Tom says forums are taking a hit from various things.

Am caught up rewriting our site and hey in an epic viewing of Stubagful's Doctor Who vids on youtube mode.

I drop by almost everyday but mostly read. On average I work about 70 hours per week so it doesn't leave much time to post but I can visit by phone when I have time.

I must be one of those rare pc people, I never post anything from my phone. Too tedious.

Yeup, I have noticed a lot of forums about any subject seem to be ghost towns, so cool deal, I'm a new dude and I do write inbetween my work schedule.....

I spent my Summer 2017 by making a mistake (bought an ice cream stand at a farmers market, realized almost immediately it was going to be an expensive spur-of-the-moment decision, cut my loses & ran, ended up with a very expensive paper holder for my desk at work) but I'm mostly back to my usual routine (corporate IT geek by day, geek for fun at night).

Yikes! Is that work schedule by choice?

For the most part I'm the same way but I'm finding myself having my phone with me more often that I do my laptop.

Not really what I'd like to be doing but it is what it takes. It's a very, very, long story that began when Obamacare went into effect; basically I now have to work 2 jobs to have decent insurance. I hope that one day I will be able to work the 1 job that provides our insurance.

I'm disabled. There are many things that regulate my attendance and participation.
My health is my main factor, always.
If I'm having a decent health day, I then have to consider the activity level of all the other websites I frequent.
After dinner, I usually start watching movies. Lately I have been watching movies to the wee hours and since they are on a playlist I usually don't check for activity till after, at which time I am more like a zombie and can't type a thought too well.
Sometimes, if I have trouble going to sleep, I lie awake and run different scenarios in my head to help me sleep. If they coincide with this community and significant for me to remember when I wake I will usually post something here about it.
I try to respond to others somehow.
I have a lot of time available but I also understand that others do not.

End the mandate, I have a buddy that is in his 30s his wife had a heart attack and his medical bills are through the roof! He has to work doubly hard just like the rest of us free Americans to pay for this joke. End the mandate then find something to replace the actual bill. America was better off before that Obamacare thing came out, remember? I do.

As I said its dead in these rooms, it shouldn't be, but it is. Maybe you need some Alien soup cheerleader gals!;)

Invite your friends to come by and chat. Heck, invite your enemies too, it could make the chat interesting.

Considering what gets usually discussed around here, shouldn't they be cosplayers?
In real life I have no real enemy's, a few irritants, but because of my stout build, they always back off. Lots of friends, maybe I should let em know about this site. I have seen cosplayers at my local book store, blue hair gals, green hair gals, I think they dig me, because I'm old school and not a skinny wimpy dude. Haaaa haaaa haaaa.
