Season 3 Worst Gunfight ever

Okay, so I registered here late, posting about this season really late. Whatever. I'm just going through the episodes again.

I vote this is one of the worst gunfights I've ever seen. It was embarassing. I'm trying to do this from memory, I think I watched it two days ago... yeah, it starts with a flash grenade, then the CIA all rush in to like 6 guards who have absolutely no cover, and Sark. The CIA then hide behind pillars. Then more CIA jump from the ceiling shooting randomly, mostly at the ground, off camera. Then the main characters (Sydney/Vaughn/Dixon/Weiss) each get their little moment to shoot a bad guy, with about half a clip for each of them, never mind the pointless fire to nowhere. Meanwhile Sark is shooting (very badly) with two guns while diving onto cushions. And I think it was Sydney who kills the last (or second last) guard by blowing holes in the hardwood leading up to his feet, killing him with the 23rd or so bullet shot at him. And then Sark gets away... oh and Sydney destroys it with a flame thrower? Come on. Like she was going to carry that thing around just for fun when she could just level the building with a few pounds of C4.

This episode annoyed me a lot watching it again this time. Wow.

I hear ya about that gunfight, Ive never seen so many wasted bullets in one scene since John McLane in Die Hard!!

For example when Syd shoots at one of the guards about 15 or so shots hit off the floor then suddenly 2 of 3 hit the guard??? Surely if you cant handle a gun of that weight Syd...you should have brought a smaller one...maybe an Uzi?? You would think they would have trained them properly at "The Farm" on how to not mindlessly waste ammuntion??

The only series I see that actually has a crackshot who shoots and hits his target is Jack Bauer on 24!

I recall that someone on the assault team was able to eliminate the rooftop guard with a single shot.

Everytime we see one of the good-guys at the practice range, they are able to shoot targets accurately.
It's just when there is someone shooting back, that their accurancy disappears. :P
Cringing under fire is so uncool!

Why do the writers & directors have "Pray & spray" shooting scenarios? I rather see "One shot, one kill" scenes.

My pet peeve of TV and movie gunfights is having too much ammunition available without reloading.

My only experience with gunfights is with First Person Shooter videogames! :shh:

The fact that Jack Bauer is suck a crack shot got me hooked on 24 as well being hooked on Alias...mind you Jack Bristows pretty handy with guns too, so not everyone on Alias is felgercarb with guns lol!!

Nadia was a great shot in Episode 4:10 'The Index". She had to rescue Jack by driving a red Mustang through the wall of a warehouse and killing each Alliance bad-guy with a single shot (from inside the car). Why can't Syd shoot as well as her little sister?

Very true! Nadia went all bad-ass in that eppy :D
