Ooooh, I love that Bender gif. Was that from an episode or fan made?

... and I am surprised that a thread of "Forbidden Music" has not elicited on "Lambada" joke yet.

Re: Forbidden tunes and other stuff

I don't know what the "Lambada" joke is, but I'm just collecting my favorite tunes and other items here.
I keep forgetting that some of you guys/gals are younger. :o_O: :D

In that brief moment of American pop culture when the "Lambada" was a dance craze in the US there was a movie named "The Forbidden Dance" (also titled as "Lambada: The Forbidden Dance" and other deviations). Needless to say the phrase "The Forbidden Dance" in a deep Latin accent was heard a lot that summer in a number of wholly inappropriate ways that had nothing to do with dancing.

The Lambada.....oh, that thing.....

I'm an american and in my forties, and I was uneffected by the Lambada, I didn't see the movie and had no interest in that style of dancing, that's why I didn't get the joke. I had forgotten about. At that time, I was still shooting pool, reading comic books and watching lots of sci-fi and horror films. The movie Lambada came out in 1990, I watched Goodfellas instead.

ah, I was recently "dating" Kenyan girl who was over studying. The dancing she was into, well, ahem, makes me blush remembering. I'm sure you can get arrested for public indecency for the way she decided to grind against me. I was (and may still be) of a solo dancer. Actually, looking back, even way back then I had a white British GF who, at my aunties silver wedding anniversary, made me drag her off the dancefloor for what she was doing. <shakes head> No sex please, we're British! Haha.

I think though, that the only music videos I've ever taken notice of were back in the day, a Queen vhs EP I bought. Some videos have briefly held my interest, few though.

Those crazy kids dancing to their wild music!

Long ago when girls used to scream, cry and faint for their favorite rock groups in the 1950's, the adult parents here thought that rock music was the work of the devil. They went on protest marches, they made editorials on tv and even burned records in bonfires, it was like witch-hunting here. Today anything goes in music, however some of it does seem very disturbing though................
