“God damn boxes.” Sydney muttered, kicking one of the multitude of boxes that were in here way. “And where are my Nike’s.” She hissed, opening five boxes before she found what she was looking for.

Sydney heard her mom’s voice from the kitchen, “Come eat before school, Sweetie.”

Sydney rolled her eyes and didn’t respond. She quickly changed out of her pajama pants and cami tank top into a pair of hip hugger jeans and an Abercrombie and Fitch tee shirt, completed with her new Nike tennis shoes.

When she went into the adjoining bathroom to fix her hair, she quickly noticed that her brush and curling iron were missing. “Nadia!” She said through clenched teeth. “b****, where the hell are you? Bring me back my stuff.” Sydney demanded.

“I’m almost done.” Nadia called from her room on the other side of the adjoining bathroom.

Sydney tapped her foot impatiently. “Hurry up... and next time use your own things, don’t take mine.” Sydney replied, running a hand through her hair.

A minute later, Nadia walked into the bathroom. “Here’s your s***, and Syd, for everyone’s sake... take a Midol.” Nadia smirked as she walked out of the bathroom.

Sydney fumed as she ran her brush through her hair and curled the ends. Putting on the finishing touches of her watch, the bracelet her best friend, Eric Weiss, gave her for Christmas, and a silver necklace, she was ready for her first day of school in Trenton, New Jersey.

“Breakfast is getting cold.” Irina told Sydney when she walked down the stairs.

“I’m not hungry.” Sydney said, kissing her baby sister’s brown hair and glaring at her dad as she fixed herself a cup of coffee.

Irina gave her a look. “Sydney, you need to eat something.” Irina said sternly.

“Whatever.” Sydney rolled her eyes, picking up a piece of toast from the pile on the table and taking a bite.

“There, I ate a bite, and I’m going to be late for school.” Sydney stated. “Nadia, are you ready?”

Nadia nodded, “I just gotta grab my book-bag.”

“Hurry.” Sydney said, picking up her backpack and her keys. Nadia walked in a second later, her Jansport book-bag on her back.

Sydney threw her’s over her left shoulder and said a goodbye to her parents as they walked out the door.

The sisters climbed into the cherry red Volkswagen Jetta that Jack had bought earlier that week for Sydney, hoping she wouldn’t hate him as much for moving her here.

Sydney couldn’t complain. It was a bangin’ awesome car.

They made it to school by eight o’clock with only ten minutes to find their lockers and their classes.

Much to Sydney’s dismay, she immediately discovered that she had the locker next to her sister. “I thought juniors had lockers on the other side of the school.” Sydney rolled her eyes, not wanting to see her sister anymore than necessary.

“What class do you have first, Syd?” Nadia asked her older sister.

Sydney looked at her schedule. “Health; can you believe that? In our old school we only had to take gym and health for two years, but here you have to take it every damn year.”

“Oh s***,” Nadia muttered.

“What?”

Nadia raised an eyebrow. “We have health together.”

Sydney groaned, as they began to head towards the health room.


Much to both of the sister’s dismay, the teacher put the class in alphabetical order, so Sydney sat directly behind Nadia.

As they took their seats, Sydney noticed Michael her neighbor sitting in the back right corner. He smiled at her and Sydney shyly tucked a strand of hair behind her ear as she turned her attention back to the teacher: Mrs. Holaday.

“Today, we’re going to start talking about sex and how if you decide to participate you need to be safe.”

Nadia snorted. “Syd, you know a lot about this subject.”

“I’m not the only one.” Sydney retorted back. “Now shut the f*** up.” She hissed quietly.

“Do you two young ladies have a problem?” Mrs. Holaday asked them.

Sydney nodded. “As a matter of fact, I do. My sister, here, is being a jerk and I think it would be best if you let me move to a different seat, far away from--”

Nadia glared at Sydney and cut her off, “I’m being a jerk!?” Nadia exclaimed loudly.

The whole class was staring at them intently, but neither sister noticed, “Yes, you are. And you don’t deserve to act like a jerk, because if you weren’t such a b**** we wouldn’t be in this gorram situation.”

“This is not my fault Ms. I-got-caught-naked-in-bed-with-the-captain-of-the-football-team-by-my-father.”

The teacher tried to separate them, but they were too involved in their fight. “Oh, so you want to bring that subject up, cause I could go on all day, so I wouldn’t go there if I was you.”

“God, I hate you.” Nadia told Sydney.

Sydney smiled. “Good, because I hate you too.” Sydney said honestly.

They both sat down in their seats with a huff, ignoring the looks they were getting. “Sooo...” The teacher said, “Sydney, why don’t you move in the back behind Mr. Vaughn.” Mrs. Holaday suggested, pointing to the seat behind Michael.

“My pleasure.” Sydney smiled politely, picking up her bag and moving behind Michael.

He gave her a half smile as she sunk down into her seat. “I don’t get along with my sister either.” He joked.

Sydney laughed slightly, as she listened to the slightly-on-edge teacher.

When Sydney walked through the front door after school, her younger sister was immediately thrust into her arms. “We have to go to a meeting with your teacher, Nadia’s upstairs doing homework, we need you to watch Hailey.” Jack told Sydney.

“Fine,” Sydney muttered.

“And we’re having a talk later about getting in trouble your FIRST day of school.” Irina told her eldest daughter.

Sydney rolled her eyes. “It’s Nadia’s fault.”

“We’ll see.” Jack said flatly. Her parents were halfway out the door when Jack turned around, “The new lawn boy is coming over today to get paid, there’s an envelop on the kitchen counter for him.”

“Okay, okay.”

Her parents were barely gone for a minute when the doorbell rang. She opened it, surprised to find Michael Vaughn on the other side.

“Holy s***.” He exclaimed when he saw Sydney holding Hailey - who happened to have a lot of similar features as Sydney.

“My little sister, Hailey.” She explained with a smile.

Michael smiled apologetically. “Oooh... Well, after health today... I wasn’t sure what to expect.”

Sydney rolled her eyes. “Ignore Nadia, she’s trying to make me look bad. I’m not like that.” Sydney told him.

“I never said you were--”

Sydney cut him off, “I know that the whole health class probably thinks that Nadia and I are both *h**es, but I’m not...” Sydney rolled her eyes again. “And I’m sorry you had to witness that. You were lucky, usually there’s hair pulling and slapping involved.” Sydney laughed.

Michael chuckled.

“So, I’ll go get your paycheck really quick.” She told him, disappearing into the kitchen and returning with a stark white envelop.

“Here you go.” She handed it to him.

“Thanks.” He grinned. “So I’ll see you around school, maybe we could hang out sometime.”

Sydney smiled. “That’d be nice. Bye Michael.” She waved, shutting the door behind him.

Ohh, Vaughn's like the hot lawn guy in Desperate Housewives. :P Damn, can Nadia and Syd hate each other even more? :lol: This fic is interesting.
 
Talk about getting in trouble on the first day. Vaughn must have thought this was a very wird family after that little episode. But I like that he and Syd will hang out. Thanks for the PM and please post more soon I can't wait for it.

This is a great story...........I love it. Syd and Nadia are hilarious.........men one there first day at there new school...... Can´t wait for more. Thanx for the pm.
