I feel extremely awkward posting this, but I'm actually
happy that Alias is being cancelled.
:run:
I actually had an Alias marathon before I heard this news. I (with my friend that recently got into Alias) watched mostly season 1 and 2 episodes. Then, I popped in season four. My friend said, "Is this
Alias?" Alias declined after season two's finale. It had potential, but unfortunately the writers couldn't embrace it. Now with season five, it's hard to watch. I still do, unlike some, but I mainly do so because I want to see what other crazy things will make the show even worse. So now, maybe the writers can
finally write a
good series finale and we can be at peace with a show that brought such joy to millions of lives. If the ABC people had renewed Alias for season six, I would have been sad; it would have showed the stupidity of American executives. Its cancellation is a good thing.
The only bad thing about it, however, is the effect it will have on AllAlias.com. I have a feeling it will slow down (it has a bit anyways lately) and I think maybe people will drift away.
That's the
truly sad thing about this event.
