A chuckled escaped him. “Want to play hooky? Maybe steal Dylan away? There this little cabin not so far away. We could spend the night there and Dylan could play in the sand to his little heart content.
“Sounds like heaven. Maybe first we could…I don’t know maybe catch some dinner just the two of us by the beach. I’ve really missed my fiancé these past few days.” She said, kissing his sweaty neck.
“I could ask the chief to pack us a basket and maybe we could spend the night on the beach? How does that sound?” he asked, a playful smile on his face.
“Just like our first night together.” she smiled.
“Yeah but this time, no one is running away, right?” he said, smiling back at her.
“Never again. I promise.” She said as he bent his head down and captured her lips in a passionate kiss.
“I love you.” She said, as they pulled apart
“I love you too and please remember what I said about my mother. No circus, Syd.” He said as he opened the closet door to let her go back to her busy schedule.
“No circus, promise.” She said quickly kissing him again before making her way back to the library for her meeting with Amelia and the florist.
Vaughn watched her walked back in the library and started whistling away as he made his way to the kitchen to talk to the chief about preparing a basket for their romantic night on the beach.
