Behave. I don't have the time or inclination to play with trolls.

Hey everyone, just thought i would get the new thread started. I am sitting here annoyed in Aus as the final season of Alias is still nowhere in sight in terms of broadcast on Chanel 7 and no news on when the DVD's are released here. Is it to much to ask for them to put it back on. I want to see Jen in her final season of the show.

5. Tag all spoilers - even if it's just a tiny or implied one.

Great, but Alias is over now. ;)

Though one thing I'd love is if there for some reason is a mention about other shows, that you spoiler tag, because there are some non-U.S people here (me for example) who doesn't want to know what's going on in the U.S...

It doesn't happen often here, but sometimes, and it could happen.

If you want to see some pictures of Ben Affleck from Venice, go here:

If you want to see a video-interview with Lane and Hoskins, and then with Affleck, Brody and Coulter (the director), go here:

http://www.latvdellamostra.raisat.it/

Put the arrow of your mouse on "Film", "In concorso" and "Hollywoodland". Then on the right of your desktop click on "TV Call". Both the interviews have a translation in Italian, so it's difficult you can "hear" what they say in original language. I've read some newspepar reviews and some people like it a lot, some people think it's boring instead. They all say anyway that "Hollywoodland" as a noir has been better than "The Black Dahlia" by Brian De Palma. There is also harmony in judging the good performance by all the actors. Someone loved more the oscar Brody, someone says Diane Lane was particularly perfect in her role, someone else was happy saying this has been Affleck's better dramatic performance. I don't think (I don't feel it, because there were respect for the movie, but not a huge delirium for "Hollywoodland") this movie is going to win the festival, but nobody said worst words for the actors. The worst critics said that the actors could be spared, because of a boring movie. Some people think that in spite of the fact that Coulder is a great talent director, the movie seems to be a little too long.
In some interviews Ben Affleck told that is frustraiting trying to be a star in Hollywood, because people confuse your character with your personal own life and a I've read a review that confirm that, saying: the best part of Affleck's performance comes when he focuses on the "private" part of Reeve's life. Affleck also took distance from Reeves, when he said: "I'd prefer to live, instead of being famous" or something like that. I mean: I've read all those things in italian, and for me it's diffcult to translate them in english...
Oh! I forgot to say that his aspect (fatter) of the period he was doing that movie, due with the fact he took 20 Kg. right for impersonating Reeves.

Thanks for that summing up of reactions to "Hollywoodland" in Venice.
Ben didn't put on 20 kgs, but only about 12.
I am looking forward to seeing the movie, American reviews have been positive up to now, and Ben is getting mostly good reviews, some even say he owns the movie.
Since you are Italian, I have to say I love Venice, it's beautiful, and it's a shame Jen had to work and couldn't accompany Ben. No cars on the main part, though there are cars on the Lido.
It's a Jen site, so I stop here.
And one of my favorite recent movies is "Romanzo criminale", excellent.

Affleck Grateful for Garner

Besotted new dad Ben Affleck is thrilled he found love with his stunning Daredevil co-star Jennifer Garner - even though he’s not sure why she loves him.

After failed high-profile engagements with Jennifer Lopez and Gwyneth Paltrow, Affleck enjoyed a low-key 11 month courtship with the Alias actress, before marrying on the Caribbean’s Turks and Caicos islands in June 2005.

Affleck says, “I can legitimately, honestly, say I don’t know what she see’s in me!”

Piven Blasts TV Host on Red CarpetBy WENN| Tuesday, August 29, 2006

HOLLYWOOD - Entourage star Jeremy Piven lashed out at TV host Billy Bush on the red carpet of the Emmys on Sunday, telling the presenter, "You have potential as a human being."
Piven has just finished filming The Kingdom with Jennifer Garner, where he came into contact with the actress' baby, Violet.

After asking Piven about young Violet, Bush--cousin of President George W. Bush--then began barraging the actor with questions about celebrity babies during the interview for Access Hollywood.

When Bush asked if he had seen Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's baby, Shiloh Nouvel, in his Malibu, California, neighborhood, Piven replied, "No... I have 116 other things to do... I don't go hunting for celebrity babies, thank you, Billy."

After then being grilled about Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' daughter, Suri, Piven snapped, "You need another job. You have potential as a human being. This may not be right for you. Seriously--can you focus on other things?"

Affleck isn't in love with fame
By Carol Beggy & Mark Shanahan, Globe Staff | September 1, 2006

Sounds like Ben Affleck wants to be left alone. Hyping his new movie, ``Hollywoodland," at the Venice Film Festival yesterday, the Cambridge-bred actor said he'd like his private life to remain private. ``Nowadays, people pay attention more and more to . . . even the most mundane aspects of [actors'] everyday lives," said Affleck, whose relationship with Jennifer Lopez made him a popular target of the paparazzi. ``The movies sometimes become incidental pit stops or commercial breaks in the soap opera of their life." Calling fame ``the dance you have to dance," the actor said it drives some folks to contemplate suicide. `` It's not the greatest career move," cracked Affleck, who's now married to actress Jennifer Garner. ``Personally, I would rather not be famous than dead." In his new movie, Affleck plays TV's Superman George Reeves, whose mysterious death was treated as a suicide.

I'm glad that Ben is getting such critical acclaim for Hollywoodland....he really needed that.

Ben was on Leno tonight. He was very charming. He was telling the story about "the catch" at the Red Sox game. He said that the second baseman felt bad for him about an inning after that, so he tossed a ball over to Ben, but Ben was talking to Jen, and she ended up catching it with no glove! That's Jen for ya!

ya im glad hollywoodland will help out ben...however i always thought he was a terrific actor...but ya i am going to see it this weekend!!! i can't wait...when i first heard about it i was like "im so there!"...i watched leno last nite too...and may i say ben was looking fine! :D ...like sydsbiggestfan said he was very charming...and the story about going to the red sox games when he was young and now were so cute!!! haha and when he was like the baseman threw the ball to him...and b.c he was talking to jg he missed it and jg caught it...i laughed so hard!! too cute!!

i just got back from the movie!!!....it was a little slow...however diane's, ben's and adrian's performances were really good!!! their roles were believable!!...and holy poop can u tell ben beefed up for the role...and did he wear a prosthetic nose??....anyways it was definitely a great movie for ben to start off with after a two year break!!! everyone go check it out!

Ya, I plan on seeing Ben's movie when it comes out on DVD. I have like no money to actually go see it, lol. I saw a picture of Jen in my city's newspaper of her at the premier. It was a bad shot, but I liked her dress, and she did look really good. I cut it out, lol.
