One planet. One people.

Have you considered that everything being done on this planet is a concerted effort to rebuild a single entity beyond your comprehension?

Like ants building an anthill.

The internet as a collective mind.

All the chemicals in your foods with names you can’t pronounce nor even understand the origin of.

All the technology you entertain yourselves with teaching your mind how to disregard death and how to act and be.

The interlinking of a world.

One planet. One people.

Just what are you creating?

Do you even know?

Who is your queen?

There are worse things than death and dying.

everything being done on this planet
No.
This planet is very divided.
You have failed to consider the societies that hate Western ideas.
Granted, the power groups are uniting but they are far from everyone or everything.

To acheive Type 1 Civilization we are far, far from it. This planet will remain divided until it can surpass greed and power.

Most people I know are afraid to think about their death. I don't understand where that comes into the United World scenario?

Like ants building an anthill.
Like ants building many ant hills. Then fighting over them.

The internet as a collective mind.
The internet is a collective mind but not of the whole planet. There are still many, many people that have never even used the internet.

All the chemicals in your foods with names you can’t pronounce nor even understand the origin of.
Those chemicals are listed on the labels in most developed countries. Even there, many cannot read them because of illiteracy. Those that can read and comprehend, many don't care.

All the technology you entertain yourselves with teaching your mind how to disregard death and how to act and be.
Most of the world does not entertain themselves like we do. Most of the world is just trying to survive the day.

Reality, yes, R E A L I T Y, is trying to kill you. Most people would not survive if they lost their technology. Reality is driven home whenever there is a natural disaster.

Since this is in the Sci-Fi, Horror, and Fantasy Talk section and not in Creative Writing I am confused at the topics you wish to discuss? Please clarify?

Tom. in programming code, I can create a simulation where I can change the way light interacts with a surface and the way in which colors are perceived and i can alter code to change the speed in which gravity accelerates an object towards any surface - whether that surface is paper thin, invisible, or as massive as a planet.

In a simulation others created through programming code - as a male I can create a unique female avatar in a world where magic is used by 20% of the population and dragons are real.

Where are these worlds I am interacting with?

They are both imaginary and real, would you not agree?

That is, on a screen - I can perceive this very real world where I quite literally can control everything about it.

And if there's something I can't control. Knowing the code, I can create new code to make it so I can.

My only limitation to what can be done is my own imagination.

I don't understand your and other's fixation on 'type 1', 'type 2' civilizations.

Some sentient species are not going to progress and fit in boxes as neatly as a disease does.

Some species may 'leap frog' civilizations exponentially - the human race for instance, as I am sure you're well aware - has been treated as a slave race for so long based on predictable orders such as yours that we've quite literally had to rewire the fabric of reality through programming code to circumvent those restrictive rules which assume that all life follows a strict progression of x leads to y leads to z.

No. Reality is not trying to kill me.

I'm past that point, technologically and logically, having realized I can toy with the mechanisms of reality itself by reprogramming it much like a child plays with sand in a sandbox knowing what I learned through my eons as a slave.

AS I push knobs and levers saying "I wonder what this does" I find myself in awe of how easy it is to affect change on scales I never fathomed possible before. And here I thought leadership of a group was difficult. I'm now at a point where I see directly the feedback of the things I push on a global scale.

The Sony hack for instance. That was me pushing a button here and there and watching the response.

In any case. I wasn't writing a story.

That's why I didn't place this in creative writing.

I was stating an observation.

As for the chemicals.

99.9999% of the people out there are not going to understand the chemical list not due to illiteracy.

But because unlike you, they do not belong to a collective sharing information and knowledge freely.

You do realize I am not within your collective, right?

I'm an individual who's tapped your communication channels.

And looking at your world from outside of it.

You are, after all, but one of the knobs and buttons I am pushing to see what happens next ;-)

This is, after all, my form of entertainment!

I don't understand your and other's fixation on 'type 1', 'type 2' civilizations.
We are type zero, Type One controls their planet (has harnessed the planets resources and mastered their domain) Type two harnesses the power of their star and all the ramifications of that. Type 3 harnesses space and all the ramifications of that. It isn't a fixation as much as its a tool to determine a civilization's advancement.

assume that all life follows a strict progression of x leads to y leads to z.
I don't know who you are referring to but it certainly isn't me. I already explained my views of life and they are of my own making. I even posted them several times here.

I was stating an observation.
And was such an observation shared to obtain different viewpoints or instruct? Viewpoints can be compared and considered where instruction assumes learning is wanted. Many people on this planet don't want to learn, they are happy oblivious. Being as this is a discussion forum I am discussing. I honor your observations with feedback.
You are, after all, but one of the knobs and buttons I am pushing to see what happens next ;-)
This is, after all, my form of entertainment!
Yes, I am. Consider that not knowing what happens next is a fundamental part of Chaos. The results of your pushing and knob turning are not predictable. There will always be a rouge in the programming, a glitch in the matrix.
Entertainment is why we all are here. Speculative Fiction offers some an escape, others an adventure and still others a way to be creative. Personally, I like the thought exercises.
collective sharing information and knowledge freely
I have always been like that. My boss at work once asked me why I asked so many questions - I told him so I can learn how to do my job better. When I asked him why he was reluctant to show me his short-cuts he said because it was his was to stay on top. I surpassed him in a year.
In school my instructors always hated me. My hand was always up and my questions made them struggle for answers. What I call common sense most people are mystified about.

There are similarities in the people of this planet. Quite a few actually but they are not in technology. Technology is only available to those that can afford it and most of the planet is broke. I think it would be interesting to explore some of the similarities common to all people everywhere.

Belief in Life & Death
People assume that life means something. Death means something. It doesn't. Life and death just is. They walk around thinking life is great or life sucks. Life is just life. There are no requirements or rights associated with life. Requirements and rights are completely made up by the people to try to deal with reality as they comprehend it.

Reproduction
The only thing that people produce is more life and felgercarb. You might argue that they produce carbon dioxide when they breathe and yes they do but it is that exhale that adds to the plant life. People construct all manner of things but they only produce offspring and waste.

There are many similarities we can discuss...

Tom, it was more a rhetorical question which missed the target I was aiming for.

The 'types' of civilization are based on a single linear perspective and understanding of reality. Like an LSAT test, which tests ONLY if you think like the persons who are already involved in law, your test of civilization's advancement - while valid - only serves to support the linear design of civilizations as they relate to technology as you know it.

If a civilization deviates from this linear design, with the fact that your civilization is still regarding the multiverse as theory, chances are you would not see nor comprehend deviations from your 'civilization types' as they occurred because you'd be too busy looking for linear evidence in a successive and progressive way.

This is not to say there is anything wrong with your 'tool' to ascertain the progression of a civilization.

But might I suggest putting other tools in your toolbelt?

Yes, I am. Consider that not knowing what happens next is a fundamental part of Chaos. The results of your pushing and knob turning are not predictable.

Tom, the results of my pushing knobs and buttons are not ENTIRELY predictable, but with a great deal of education on the subject and environment, that mitigates the risk and lets me know generally speaking what to expect as a result.

Sure, chaos might occasionally creep into ANY system, so having decent training in how to repair and/or undo the chaos created becomes a necessity to the good scientist and experimenters.

Keep in mind that scientific experimentation, by it's nature, is part chaos part order. Now if you expect the outcome to be totally predictable, this is not experimentation or science, it's marketing to sell a product.

Case in point: I spent a good number of years 'experimenting' with drugs as a mortal. I enjoyed hallucinogenics immensely. When I first 'tried' the experiment, they were highly controlled. Amsterdam, tightly controlled and reliable supply chain, and well documented effects. Then, as time went on, I experimented with other substances and physiological manipulation to enhance the effects - cocaine and a lack of sleep provided often uncontrolled hallucinations - but I ALWAYS KNEW a bad trip was a 6 hour wait away. Now over time, even this grew old, and by then I was ready for riskier experimentation, so I switched over to the - at the time totally unknown bath salts. This was the FIRST what I consider true scientific experiment I had embarked on - I had no idea what to expect - I had spent a great deal of time and number of years training my mind and body to endure the conditions the drugs presented. But to say i wasn't ready for what unfolded with that experiment was an understatement.

But I was at the same time. What I experienced 'woke me up' and made me get off 'drugs' altogether. A part of me awakened and realized - these things that are possible in computer simulations happen for real with hallucinogenics but are dismissed as fiction. But the thing is - it felt absolutely real.

A Terminator world with Smells. Tastes, sights - that embarked me on a quest to understand my life itself.

Now after all this experimentation, I worked with some amazing people - and the US Government - to help get me off my addictions, and I thank the US Government for that assistance. They apparently knew who I was - a very bored God who thought I had experienced everything reality had to offer - and the whole time they were trying to help me 'imagine greater' for my own life.

Was my experimentation out of control? Sure. I had no idea what to expect. And what I saw scared me.

But as things 'settled down', I realized that fiction and hallucinations are merely human developed labels to segment - to protect - our individual minds from the infinity of reality - and as mentioned in Doctor Who - the infinity drives anyone who looks at it insane.

Not everyone, my dearest Doctor.

I have since realized life's infinitely more complex than I previously imagined, and have been in my own rehabilitation program rediscovering my immortal self and mind - free of the artificial substances which I HAD to experiment with - without being able to predict the outcome - to teach myself that these worlds will be accessible without technology (drugs) and this is all my personally created training program.

There will always be a rouge in the programming, a glitch in the matrix. Entertainment is why we all are here. Speculative Fiction offers some an escape, others an adventure and still others a way to be creative. Personally, I like the thought exercises.

Tom. Speak for yourself, please. For me, I enjoy good entertainment, don't get me wrong, but I'm here for a number of reasons beyond that. Most important would probably be to have fun - which isn't necessarily having to be entertained. To relax. To indulge. To play. To sleep. I could go on, but calling it all entertainment is like calling all life sentient when it's clearly not.

Technology is only available to those that can afford it and most of the planet is broke. I think it would be interesting to explore some of the similarities common to all people everywhere.

Technology comes in different forms, and maybe the physical devices you idolize are unaffordable because the only one demanding them is you. Technology can also come in education. In experience. In substance. In belief and faith. I invite you to consider that gadgets and devices are not all that constitute "technology", and this crutch you have on the necessity of devices in the physical realm might be limiting yourself.

People assume that life means something. Death means something. It doesn't. Life and death just is. They walk around thinking life is great or life sucks. Life is just life. There are no requirements or rights associated with life. Requirements and rights are completely made up by the people to try to deal with reality as they comprehend it.

Again, to you. To me, when you're alive, you have every right and privilege for life to become your fantasy when you're ready for it. maybe prior to then it's an education and experience to 'expand your sphere of awareness and what's possible as much as possible before you embark on the flight of fantasy.

Some people can't die. I am one of those. To me life and death are not, but I understand and respect those who choose it for themselves. Hopefully you - whoever you are and whatever your species - comes to respect that just because you can have the same medium of exchange and conversation - does not make you alike. We just happen to have a single method we've developed to share conversation with. That's all.

The only thing that people produce is more life and felgercarb. You might argue that they produce carbon dioxide when they breathe and yes they do but it is that exhale that adds to the plant life. People construct all manner of things but they only produce offspring and waste.

Wow. Tom, i sense you are not the man you purport yourself to be by this statement and you're looking in on humans as an outsider not fully comprehending anything other than what you can directly experience with your own senses, and not believing there's more beyond what you can perceive.

I was that way once.

Then I learned.

I'm unique. And chances are. No one perceives - thinks - feels - like I do.

And so are those I observe.

They and you call them hallucinations and fiction.. Why? To protect yourselves? To control your population? To make things and people predictable and measurable?

And yet. There's so much to be explored in these worlds you're denying exist.

I know better ;-) And I am recruiting others as we speak to explore and experiment with me.

Free of substance.

They are, after all, a construct of thought and mind

If a civilization deviates from this linear design, with the fact that your civilization is still regarding the multiverse as theory, chances are you would not see nor comprehend deviations from your 'civilization types' as they occurred because you'd be too busy looking for linear evidence in a successive and progressive way.
Valid point
I am certainly one to agree that alien life is far stranger than I can imagine.

But might I suggest putting other tools in your toolbelt?
That was but one. I have many.

Keep in mind that scientific experimentation, by it's nature, is part chaos part order. Now if you expect the outcome to be totally predictable, this is not experimentation or science, it's marketing to sell a product.
Nothing is completely predictable, especially when considering the multiverse. For every instant there are an infinity of outcomes. Each of those outcomes in each instant are another infinity. Predictability can be partially rendered within the local laws governing this dimension but even then there is an infinity of outcomes. The predictor establishes which outcomes they will acknowledge and twist their perceptions to make those outcomes fit or not fit their prediction. The instances of the prediction process align to reinforce the outcome.
Its not a matter of predicting Yes or No. This or That. There are an infinity of instances where both the predictor and the predicted do not align. There is also an infinity of instances where there was no prediction at all.

I had no idea what to expect. And what I saw scared me.
I had an adverse reaction to a prescription drug which caused me not to be able to sleep. I experienced things that my younger self on LSD and other drugs never imagined. I saw dimensionally into other worlds coinciding with ours. During my hospital stay while diagnosed psychotic I related the details to my shrink of what I saw. He wrote it all down. Thing is...I remember it all to this day. Not only what I saw and heard and smelled but what I felt as well. Later in life I was in a car accident and died in the ambulance on the way to the hospital. Only actually dead for a few minutes I also recall that experience. I remember what I felt, saw, smelled, heard and experienced. I remember the rush of pain that was life when they resuscitated me. Life is pain. Since I was only dead for a few minutes what I experienced was not really death. It was my brain releasing chemicals to try to recover. Death is just nothing. Not blackness, not emptiness...Nothing.

Tom. Speak for yourself, please.
I was except that I include a few reasons that I know others have told me. Everyone does what they do for their own reasons.

Wow, who is making assumptions now?
I refer you back to your original proclamation:
All the technology you entertain yourselves with teaching your mind how to disregard death and how to act and be.
If you actually knew me you would know that I idolize nothing. I demand nothing from life and I expect nothing.
The establishment of the term technology is to represent constructs. I understand what you imply but there are better descriptors out there. Our bodies are technology, technology that is complex to us but technology all the same. The thing is, Technology as accepted is comprised of devices and constructs that are manipulated. It includes the 'use' factor. A rock is not technology but using a rock to dig a hole in the dirt is.

you have every right and privilege for life to become your fantasy when you're ready for it. maybe prior to then it's an education and experience to 'expand your sphere of awareness and what's possible as much as possible before you embark on the flight of fantasy.
Rights and privileges must be given, whether by yourself or someone else. If it can be given, it can be taken away. Life is just life. Everything else people make up to cope with it is just a delusion. Step into a volcano and tell the fire that you have a "right to life".

Some people can't die. I am one of those.
A delusion. As I see it.
you're looking in on humans as an outsider not fully comprehending anything
The pot calling the kettle black.
I invite you to read the history of my posts here. You will find your statement is faulty.
I'm unique. And chances are. No one perceives - thinks - feels - like I do.
This I completely agree with. We are all unique. It doesn't make us wrong - just different.

Each of us experience our own worlds. Sometimes those worlds intersect and can be shared to a limited degree. It is the basis of society. No perception of worlds will ever match exactly.

Tom wrote while quoting Q:

"Q The First Timelord said:

This I completely agree with. We are all unique. It doesn't make us wrong - just different. "

"Each of us experience our own worlds. Sometimes those worlds intersect and can be shared to a limited degree. It is the basis of society. No perception of worlds will ever match exactly."

Now consider this - Say there are 10 billion people in the world - No two people have ever existed in exactly the same place at the same time. In fact we have 10 billion realities only connected by symbolic communication,
ie. words and symbols, verifiable in symbolic representations written in say books and computer data - There is no way to verify if this data is universal - it is simply agreed upon and usually adds up scientifically - But in fact it is possible that there are many world's, universes and species of being yet to be verified - Everett's 'Many Worlds' interpretation of Quantum Mechanics is mind bogling even for our world - But just what is 'our world'?
Tom's and mine are certainly different even though we often agree - And of course Q's must be different and even he has admitted it - Claims to have created it!
:mirelly:

"Each of us experience our own worlds. Sometimes those worlds intersect and can be shared to a limited degree. It is the basis of society.

Definitely

No perception of worlds will ever match exactly."

That's a logical flaw.

Anything that can happen does.

I suspect there's a reason you wish to limit what can happen. Why is that?

And of course Q's must be different and even he has admitted it - Claims to have created it!

It's not a claim, my friend, it's a simple statement of fact.

PROVE IT !!!

No BS - I want you to prove without a reasonable doubt that you created 'the' world! You might stand a better chance in proving you created 'your world' - Maybe you did create 'your world' - but except For the symbolic words we exchange here - YOUR WORLD AND MY WORLD ARE NOT THE SAME!!!

A delusion. As I see it.

Are you of the assumption that evolution is a generational thing and constricted and confined between generations of a species? Are you aware that some birds have spontaneously sprouted wings and some fish have spontaneously grown legs?

Or are you of the presumption that evolution is restricted to form and minds cannot evolve? Are you aware that there can be such dramatic changes to a being's perceptions in a single lifetime which necessitate a complete overwrite of the mind which may and quite often result in the physical transformation the body.

Up to and including a different path not governed by a relentless and uncaring system which demands life, death and taxes as the only things guaranteed.

Everthing. Including that system. Can and has changed now. As I am sure you're quite aware of.

I broke the chains of mortally guaranteed death in order to experience life on my terms for a change.

I am curious why you'd assume I'm delusional.

When I simply chose to live my life on my terms.

Would you care to explain?

Each of us experience our own worlds. Sometimes those worlds intersect and can be shared to a limited degree. It is the basis of society. No perception of worlds will ever match exactly.

I'm glad you agree with yourself (Alienview) on this.

I, however have experienced evidence to the contrary on this.

I will.

I promise you and this world will have absolutely no doubt of who I am and what I have done before long.

Be patient.

This isn't easy for me making this transition.

While I know this isn't my first time doing this.

It still feels like it is.

Keep watching the news. I plan on making this a spectacle.

And fun for me.

None of this walking on water felgercarb I did before.
