Animation Minions

I admit, I like the Minions from the Despicable Me movies. :D The fact that they are in their own movie this year makes me happy as it looks like it'll be a fun movie I can actually watch with my wife.

Is " The Minions" a sci-fi movie? It could be counted as one. Anyways, I've seen it on Saturday and it was hilarious and my favourite Minion is Bob! Who's your favourite Minion?

After a weekend that did not turn out as expected I said 'Heck with it!' and took my wife to see the Minions for a Sunday afternoon excuse. Cute movie! I'm glad we went; the theater was mostly empty at the time of the day so my wife & I enjoyed the movie & snacks in peace on a big screen. I loved the pop-culture references throughout the movie and spotting a young Gru at Villian-Con.

They could easily make additional movies that cover the 70's & 80's time periods with the Minions becoming a family to Gru and cover Gru's rise in the world of villains.
my favourite Minion is Bob
I loved how Bob held onto the rat as though it was his best friend in the world.

Minion smilies! OK, they are a little big  but at smaller sizes it really gets hard to see the detail on them.

I enjoyed the movie when I saw it a couple of weeks ago. Loved all the pop culture references. Plenty of laughs.

I was watching it with a friend who doesn't have the same sense of humor as I do, though, so afterwards he asked, "Was that supposed to be funny?" Different strokes for different folks, I guess...

And it's been confirmed this week, Minions has grossed $1 billion in ticket sales! The breakdown is roughly $700 million from US sales and $300 million from international sales. And it hasn't even opened yet in some markets! :wideeyed:

It sets the movie to be, so far, the third highest grossing animated film, the 23rd highest grossing film in general, the highest animated grossing film in general in several territories such as Latin America, and is the third film from the Universal studio to reach $1B within a single year (Furious 7 and Jurassic World are the other two films that hit $1B this year).
