Okay show has dropped Downunder folks, took till the afternoon so went into work

Up to episode 5, anyone else got the Alien reference in episode 4? This time the cat doesn't come off as well.

Dug the Video arcade and Terminator playing at the local cinema :winner:

Like I said Sol lock and load Netflixs, worth it for this show alone. ... ohhh just noticed the horror icons. :vampire:

Just got through episode 6, 7 playing as I write, and was digging the Aliens nod in 6.
I sat through Alien cove, it was boring, and I was surprised to find that David created all of the space critters, when clearly the space Jockey was a zillion years old. Those eggs on his ship were ancient too according to the first film. The should have had Dr.Shaw and David land on the space jockey's original planet, and make a story from there. The planet was too earth like, it should have an atmosphere, but it should be like Geigers land scape paintings. Yeup it would cost more to produce, but it would be a great ending to the series and a beginning to the Lt. Ripley nightmare...

I stayed up late last night to finish S2... it was worth it. :D It's too early for Netflix to say anything about a S3 but if there isn't on, that'll be OK because S2 ends with a door open for a S3 premise while also acting as a nice closure to the characters. Speaking of characters I think Dustin steals the show in S2.

If I had to come up with a negative it was that it was far too easy to predict the nature of Dart.

Looks like Eleven also got influence by Darth Vader a bit as well.

Well, apparently I was wrong. S3 is already under way. The Duffer brothers (creates of the series) have casually mentioned that they're working on S3 now.

With it being revealed that.... *possible spoiler warning* ... that Mathew Modine's character, Dr. Benner, aka: "Poppa" to Eleven, is still alive and with Eleven, and now Kali, out for revenge, it wouldn't be to to hard to guess what S3 will be about.

Personally, and I know some might not like me saying this, but maybe it was best to let the series end after the closing of S2. With the town of Hawkins no longer the epicenter of the Upside Down that leaves the kids being the bridge between the two worlds and the S2 episode set in Chicago showed us that the shows creators may not be as good with 80's retro as we thought they were. :coffee:

Oh, and in case you need a recap of S1.

I admire the Duffers. They've made a delightful series that firmly places me right back in the 80s.
Parachute pants anyone? Hairspray like glue?
I love all these characters, the way I once loved all of the TWD cast.
And this - sweet details

Season 2 was great fun. It's a perfect mix of scares & laughs.
Oh yeah, the movie "The Ruins" developed my fear of vines, lol. The vines in Hawkins were a nice touch, the pumpkins never stood a chance. :D

I had 2 pair of parachute pants, and hair like Rick Ocasic of the cars, haaa , I just went back to that hair style. And at my age, youngins think I'm one of them. LOL! I ask them if they heard of Van Halen, the who, Flock of Seaguls, The Fixx and Zepplin, they say no, it cracks me up when their eyes pop and their jaws drop when the find out how ancient I am. Relax, don't do it Frankie....LOL

In my opinion Scott is still doing his biblical thing and David is the devil, i.e. don't believe anything he says, clearly if he created the "alien" then that's a huge plot hole taking into account backgrounds in Prometheus.

Mick Jagger sang "You cant get what you want" Yeuppers, I reckon that applies to Mr. Scott. I take films too seriously, like trekkies and star warries, Alien is my cup o' tea. I reckon Mr. Scott is the man, like Mr. Lucas, and Mr. Roddenberry when it comes to plots and story lines. Yeup David was truly the devil. I, like other sci-fi fans figured that the first space jockey was truly ancient, and the egg and chest burster happened long before David and Dr. Shaw arrived in the LV-zone. Oh well there is always space balls, check please. LOL!
