Hello From SE WI!

I'm Liz and I've always enjoyed science fiction. I used to be a regular poster at Gene Roddenberry's PhilosophySphere from its inception in 1998 until its demise in 2004.

I enjoy good portrayals of sci-fi in TV and movies. I watched Star Trek: TOS and Star Trek: TNG with my grandfather growing up. My mom and I religiously watched Babylon 5. I also watched Star Trek: DS9 and Star Trek: Voyager. Loved Torchwood and enjoyed the reboot of Battlestar Galactica. I'm a HUGE Stargate fan. And, of course, I can't forget Earth: Final Conflict.

I also have an interest in the supernatural/paranormal.

I grew up in the NE IL and moved to SE WI a little over a year ago.

I discovered this forum/message board by accident while browsing the Internet a few hours ago. After looking around this forum, I'm looking forward to some really good discussions.

A big *WELCOME* to both @Suburban Gal and @Deacon! We hope you find our little spot on the web a friendly place to hang out.

From your list of shows it sounds like we have similar likes for TV, though you make realize I'm getting old when you mention that you watched shows like B5 with your Mom!

With your location I just have to ask... any snow yet?! I'm in SE PA and, while it's been getting pretty cold at night time with temps dipping in the 30's already, no frosts yet. I'm not ready for Winter yet, I'm still waiting for some nice Fall day! :(

Sorry.

With all the 80s and 90s reboots and re-images taking place over the past 15 or so years, my mom and I always held out hope for a Babylon 5 comeback.

Nope. No snow yet. We're still getting rain. Some days are quite windy too. We actually had a frost the other night/morning. Temps dipping into the 30s and 40s at night. I don't care about the cold weather, but I hate the wind in conjunction with the cold temps. It makes it much worse from my perspective.

Sunday was actually a really nice fall day for us. I'm hoping for a few more. Like you, I'm not quite ready for winter yet.
