Soccer

I know what you mean. I know plenty of Man Utd 'fans'. They've never been to Manchester, let alone Old Trafford.

1-1 was a fair result. United ran out the best in the first half (maybe should have scored more than 1) and Chelsea were the better in the second half.

Ashley Cole was right, he did have Ronaldo in his pocket all game. :D

United's problem is they've got no one on the bench to cause problems to the other side. Evra, O'Shea, Fletcher and Brown. They won't get goals for the side.

Fergie needs to buy an attacker in January.

Apparantly Fergie has landed Henrik Larsson on loan for 3 months....nice! I cant complain at that, Henrik is quality!

Yeah, he'll join United on the 1st of January and return for the start of the Swedish league.

I'm still trying to work out if it's a genius move or a mental one. We all now Larsson is a quality striker, but he's old. I can't work it out.

I still think United need to buy a striker, a young'un aswell. Fernando Torres would be perfect.

I'd take Torres at Old Trafford in a heartbeat, problem is he'll cost £25m upwards! Good to see we also get Giuseppe Rossi back from the Geordies, widened the gap on the Chelsea scum :D

Hey peeps, I'm new to AA and this is my first post :D
Just thought I would stop here first since i absoluteley love soccer, i don't have a team preference, but i love watching the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid, especially Ronaldinho.

I would agree Torres is undoubtedly one of the best young talents out there. In the U.S it would have to be Freddy Adu of DC United (y)

That could prove costly, i won't be surprised if the likes of Chelsea or other major European teams snap him up  Speaking on young prospects, why did England take Theo Walcott to the World Cup and not play him??

Because Sven Goran Eriksson is the biggest cunt alive.

Why he took Theo in the first place is beyond me. Michael Owen had just returned from injury, Rooney WAS injured, Crouch is a complete donkey and Walcott is a kid who had never played top flight football.

Eriksson should've taken Darren Bent who was the leading English goalscorer in the Premiership, but for some reason, the Swedish tit completely ignored him.

I would agree with that, England needed a fresh face in control, i don't think he's doing as well as he ought to be in my opinion. (n)
Yeah that's 100% right, but i disagree, Crouch isn't a donkey, i think he's dangerous in the danger areas and when you have the likes of Aaron Lennon and Stewart Downing on either wing, that could cause problems for defences :D
Mind you, to begin with i thought of Peter Crouch as the fans said "he's big, he's red, his feet stick out the bed"
That was the worst decision he made as England manager, personally i would have taken either Darren Bent or Jermaine Defoe (y)

Crouch IS a donkey. Why am I the only person in England who can see that? His first touch is dreadful and the lanky goon can't even jump.

I wouldn't have taken Defoe, I don't rate him at all.

He isn't as bad as people make out, i mean fair enough he went through i really bad time getting his first goal at Liverpool and even then it wasn't the best of goals - but they all count :D
To be honest i don't think "the lanky goon" even needs to jump  he can hold the ball up well though, you've got to give him credit for that.
Defoe is good, but at Spurs there is quite a bit of competition to get a first team place.
Who do you think is the best striker in the Championship? And the Premiership for that matter?

Granted at that height Crouchy doesnt have to jump much, still at times you could slip a packet of Rizlas on under his feet when he jumps  he's still a lanky streak of pish

Best forward in Premiership....goals wise has to be Didier Drogba though it pains me to say it, I also rate Dimitar Berbatov at Spurs...we should have bough him in the summer!

(Thinks back to when Man U wanted Ronaldinho)

If only we had bought him....how good would Man Utd have been with him in their side???

Just think if United had got all the players they wanted in the last few years.

Ronaldinho, Robben, Essien, Ballack. They'd be the dogs bollocks.

I really hope United win the Premiership this year. I think a lot of people is the country had had enough of Chelsea. At first it was good. Chelsea, Man Utd and Arsenal all going for the title but it has just been a one horse race up until now.

I hope United land Hargreaves aswell, I'd like to see him play week in week out. Bayern will let him go for no less than 20 million though.

Bayern are being shits....I wouldnt go any higher than 18 million for him

Ballack, wouldnt take him hes too similar to Scholesy, would take Hargreaves over Essien anyday.

Ronaldinho and Robben however....Can u imagine this as a midfield and strikeforce??

Robben wide on left, Ronaldo out on the right, Carrick and Hargreaves in the centre and Ronaldinho and Rooney up front?? Or Ronaldinho and Saha?

Robben.......Rooney......Ronaldinho

.................Scholes

..........Carrick..........Hargreaves

That'd be some midfield/strikeforce.

I don't want to even think about how amazing that strikeforce would be, they would be almost unstoppable. Brighton lost yesterday (n) Fancy that, Chester holding Ipswich

The best striker in the premiership in my view has to Thierry Henry, in second probably Didier Drogba then Darren Bent.

I didnt say Henry because he has only just came back into the Arsenal team, but he would be up there with Drogba...no doubt! Bent at a better team would be a definate 3rd place!

Think about it lads. Bent has scored 11 goals I think for Charlton this season. Charlton are struggling in relegation. Drogba has scored 13 for a team who are second in the Premiership.

Bent is the better of the two. Easily.

Yeah i see where your coming from Marshy, i agree with you (for once). I'm not a huge fan of Drogba, even though i think he is one of the best strikers in the Premiership.
There is no way Charlton will want to lose their best striker, but i'm quite sure Bent will want to move as soon as Charlton are heading into the Championship.
There was no mention of Robin Van Persie, personally i could see him filling the old boots of Dennis Bergkamp in the next few years.
