Worst Sci Fi Movies

Not ones that are so bad they're good, I am talking movies that make you want to kill yourself they are so bad. Like, if you got through the entire movie, you immediately lit the tape on fire and then fed it to Bigfoot. Give reasons if you like, and please; don't get offended if you like some of these movies. Everyone has their opinions, and we're all entitled. Also, if someone could tell me if movie threads like this belong in 'At The Movies' or general 'Sci If/Fantasy'. Thanks. Heed my warning: There will be spoilers.

1: Abraxas: Guardian of the Universe

It sucked because it was about a rogue police officer that looked like a janitor, who was looking for aliens that looked exactly like humans on a planet that looked exactly like the '80s. It made no reference to future technology, aliens, advancements in language, nothing. It was just boring.

So, Cool Sic Fi, what films do you hate?

I don't have high hopes for the movie 2012. Like G.I. Joe which was so over the top, 2012 looks to be one disaster after another with no room for plot, character development, or subtlety of message.

I watched Princess of Mars the other day, it's the usual Asylum nonsense, copying another top film to come out, in this case John Carter of Mars.

The direction was complete and utter nonsense. At times it looked like the crew was just filming it between themselves because the director had obviously drunk too much and was sleeping it off in his trailer.

Some scenes seemed elongated to fill in time. Particularly action scenes. Turning aiming and slashing from one second actions into three, etc. Although however bad that was, the final fight between the elder kid and the Witch in the modern Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe (watched later on with my kids) was far worse!

battlefield earth was ok for us cult classic movies.

this is the ultimate movie for me that sucked. battle beyond the stars starring (john boy) richard thomas and george peppard pre A-team. was a sleeper (not in the good way).

this is my second choice for the best worst flop of a favorite. erin moran was hot even though extreme bondage was knot her thing and grace zabriskie having sex with a giant mealworm was NOT the highlight of her career although being gross yet mildly erotic....lets all boo for galaxy of terror.

Titles: Galaxy of Terror

Worst Sci Fi Movies: Updating classic cartoons

I was disappointed when I watched a rental of SPEED RACER, I had high hopes that the film was going to look like the classic cartoon.........it was only a showcase for special effects and a weak story................

Sorry, but when it comes to bad movies I'd much rather watch Sybil Danning in some weird getup then John Travolta! :P

The recent Speed Racer was a disappointment for me as well. Watching it, you could almost sense "Yep, we'll never hear from the Wachowski Brothers ever again. Well, at least people will remember them for the original Matrix movie." :(

Starship Troopers

I still wonder how Hollywood could take one of sci-fi's all-time classic works and butcher it for the big screen.........

Worst Sci Fi Movies to avoid, here's another one: War of the Planets

x-files 2 was sucks i hate it very much

My thoughts exactly Demo.

WAR of the PLANETS
circa 2006

It has a cool looking cover on the DVD at the rental store.........and that is the only plus.

Special Effects: Filmed in a basement, army surplus uniforms, great usage of cardboard and plywood. Alien monsters were shaved GORILLA costumes painted light purple.........my jaw-dropped and stayed that way for 5 minutes, then I fast-foward it to where the aliens were attacking the space ship.......then out came the DVD from the player.

... but do any of you guys/gals enjoy watching bad sci-fi movies?

I don't know why but I have always enjoyed watching B-grade sci-fi movies as far back to being a kid in the 70's. One of my favorite things growing up was "Kung-Fu Theater" that used to air Saturday afternoons in the Philly area. It was a pairing of a couple of badly dubbed Kung Fu movies from China & Hong Kong followed by some type of genre (sci-fi, fantasy, or horror) movie.

These days I am bit older, as the grey hair attests to, but on the evenings where I've done my To Do list, the wife is out somewhere, and it's just me, the fuzzy dog, and the TV, then I still enjoy picking up pizza and watching some questionable quality movies. :D

Worst Sci Fi Movies and good bad movies.

I believe we all enjoy our own little weird cinema time. I remember Ku Fu Theater and half a dozen sci-fi/fantasy tv shows featuring wild films that you don't normaly see any where else.

I had a chicken/jalopeno pepper pizza whilst I watched FORBIDDEN PLANET (a.k.a. Attack of the Earth Wolves) ;).

Reign Of Fire was pretty pants. Was really looking forward to it as well.
Planet Of the apes was a let down too.
I love riddick though..i know it gets slammed!

i think the worst sci-fi film i have seen in a few years has to be avp2 requiem. the fight scenes were ok, but does no one remember when we had real characters like Ellen Ripley? the characters in avp2 had about as much depth as a kids swimming pool! and dont get me started aboutlighting. how come i could see everything in perfect quality in the trailer, yet as soon as i saw it on the big screen it was darker than a night of dead ringers ( the film of course), hostel and michael myers films.

The only thing AVP2 was good for was the 60-second or so long scene at the very end where they make a reference tying the events of the town into the Alien movie. Other than, it was just your average 'Made for the Sci-Fi Channel' quality movie that otherwise would have aired in heavy rotation on Friday nights for a few weeks.

batman and robin. do i really have to explain?
If it wasn't for Christopher Nolan, "Batman & Robin" came very close to killing the Batman movie franchise. They should do the same thing to "Batman & Robin" as what they did with "Highlander: The Final Dimension"... just quietly forget it ever saw the light of day and pretend it doesn't exist.
