Could you recommend about GOOD space films or shows?

Can't go wrong with Carl Sagan's Cosmos or the now 5 seasons of The Universe. They are documentaries, and not sci-fi, but definitely have the space angle covered. Both are on netflix streaming. That should keep you busy for a couple of weeks.

Probably best listing what you have seen, then we'll come up with ideas, rather than the other way round!

Battlestar Galactica is a really good show. I heard good things about Firefly. Video games are also a good source for great sci fi. The Mass Effect series comes to mind.

Have you seen the "Space: Above & Beyond" (S:AAB) series yet? If you like space based action shows & movies, I think you'll like S:AAB.

How old are you and what would you watch?

I still love the Wing Commander film even with my ageing years:

and an old Sean Connery film that's really worth watching:

i'm 31
wing commander was great

i know about this Sean Connery film , its Outland no?
i may watch it... but dont you think its a bit too old? ;)

Outland, yeah. Watch it and you decide if it is too old! I'm pretty sure you won't be disappointed. It's like a retelling of a Western, in space, with themes of drug use, organised crime, suicides, murders and human behaviour. Imagine it's a modern film about corporate sanctioned modafinal and the related psychological problems that come with it (a bit like Limitless) but less sanitised.

i have S:AAB in my "to see" list
but i don't think its better than lets say galactica tos...no?
S:AAB versus Battlestar Galatica TOS (from the 70's) are two entirely different beasts! S:AAB is really a war story about Marines that happens to be set in a space environment while BSG TOS is a light-hearted sci-fi series that, on occasion, had some deep moments.

i may watch it... but dont you think its a bit too old? ;)
Don't skip watching something because of its age!

There are some outstanding sci-fi films & TV shows out there over the last 50 years that might show their age because of the special effects but still offer a great story to be told.

these are too old...
i saw star trek tos ... some of galactica tos ... & didn't like it one bit. its too old. they act funny. it looks really lame. even if the story is nice somtimes.

I'm guessing you are after full on space films

cargo (a swiss film from 2009, pretty slow, but good)
moon as recommended earlier
any of the alien films (they are timeless never too old)
hunter prey (low budget but ok)

thats all off the top of my head for now
