hey,

just stumble upon this forum and looks pretty cool

Im quite newbie to sci-fi things, been interested in steampunk lately

nice to meet ya all and hopefully can get good recommendation for good books or movie or anything :D

hey, nice to meet u too

well for books i love the Passage (and the Twelve in that case), anything by Richard Matheson (been reading Duel and Nightmare at 20.000 feet. Still trying to look for I am Legend), The Rook, Wool, China Mieville Stuff, and Joe Abercombie stuff as well. Some steampunk as well like Soulless. Been trying to read Cthulhu by HP Lovecraft but the language is so difficult! especially since English isn't my first language =/
oh and Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy series

other than that, maybe some boring science books as well, kinda like.. well.. beginning of the universe or history of human race or something haha ..

as for movies or serials i love Doctor Who.. used to be into Star Trek.. i love ST Voyager, and thinking of watching Deep Space 9, that one i haven't seen. other than that, some other series like Walking Dead, Warehouse 13, Mystery Science Theater 3K, and Alphas. kinda like that one, but too bad they cancelled it =(

Mystery Science Theater 3000! I love that show, I became a member of that show after it's first season.

And as for H.P. Lovecraft, he is my favorite horror author. I'm hoping his story Mountains of Maddness can be made into a movie. I heard the director of the movie Hellboy is interested in creating it.

Kayoe, welcome!

That is a great list of reading material you mentioned. (y) What are you currently reading?

Last I heard Tom Cruise was attached to the project but haven't seen any recent news.

EDIT: OK, turns out that Guillermo Del Toro (Hellboy) bowed out of the project to do Pacific Rim instead. The working script for At The Mountains of Madness was coming in with a projected price of $150 million and the studio did not want to take the chance on what was going to be a very expensive R-rated movie.

ah i haven't read Mountain of Madness before haha. what's that about ?
The last one i read is 'Best Served Cold', i think.. haven't been reading much lately, because i've into Battlestar Galactica series xD bloody awesome

BSG classic or BSG reimagined? I'm assuming you're talking about BSG reimagined but BSG classic is still a fan favorite. :D

yeah, re-imagined haha.. the 2004 series, or is it 2003 ? do you reckon the original one is as good ?
that Dr. Gaius character really annoys me though
i like how they brought the politic in the storyline, and the mysteriousness of the cylons
