Anyone know this old movie?

I've been trying to find a classic sci-fi movie I saw as a kid on tv. I don't know much, just vague memories.

Unfortunately vines that attack & bleed is a plot device used in many movies. Any other tidbits you remember?

Unfortunately, no. I just have some scenes from memory but don't remember any other plot points. The "vines" sort of looked like opaque pool hosing and the goop was a dark red/black jello-like subsance. The entire planet was overrun by these tube/vines, it wasn't just one area. It made it difficult for the crew to go outside the ship.
