Sci-Fi Enterprise scale.

1963, 1899 called they want every thing back....
This has been bothering me for a while, I have 2 cool polar lights small scale models of the trusty Enterprise, the early one and the retro fit. (aztecing, the retro took forever, water slide decals that never ended, and soggy fingers! LOL!) Ok, the saucer section scale seems off on the retrofit one. The rec deck is where the captain had a meeting about V-ger, and it seemed huge, but from the blue prints and the model, the deck seems tiny. The top view seems even smaller. I thought the saucer section was very thin compared to the original ship. But maybe the scale is off? I would welcome any Trekkie input. Thanks, and as William Shatner would probably say to me, get a life. lol!;)

<Not my kit, but you can see the rec deck from the film the deck seemed huge, and a double level set up. but from the kit and the movie prop, it seems like a single level? I might be wrong?

Here is the original one, notice the saucer is thicker, and I would believe that it could be a 2 level. What say you?

Looks like the lowest outer edge is not a full deck.
If you go by the lights as to the deck size it appears that 2-3 of the lower outer saucer decks are not full decks. the depression appears to be 2-3 decks deep on the underside.

Thanks Tom, I have a Star Trek ship book fully illustrated, and its done by artist, and it has a few views of the rec deck while in orbit, I noticed folks on the top of the saucer section during the v-ger episode when they popped out of the hatch, and I compared them to the saucer section and they were much larger than the width of the saucer, Hollywood scale issues, lol.
