I feel pretty good. Three of my predictions came true:
  • Vaughn's problem would stem from an extra-curricular investigation of Irina including ex-KGB contacts.
  • Will was probably being psychologically manipulated.
  • Irina was likely to get Jack into trouble.

I agree with you, Verdantheart.

I have a few questions:

1) Was there any point to Irina once again telling Jack that they had to do whatever they could to give Sydney an incentive out of this spy business unless of course she really does mean it? I believe this is the second or perhaps third time she has stated this desire. In Episode 7, she asked Sydney why she risks her life for her country put not for her heart. Two weeks ago, she told Sydney that she would not see her again if Sydney were to stay in the CIA.

2) Did Irina really have to tell Sydney that she loved her? She had several occasions to do so but chose this one. It was as though she was trying to soften the blow knowing that she was not coming back. I believe as do many of you, that she has escaped to try and bring Sloane in. And, as she mentioned to Sydney in Episode 1 , the truth takes time and she her last words to Sydney were meant to leave her with the lasting impression that she is a good person.

3) Why did Irina ask that the two guards accompany her in the car. Was she trying to fool Jack. Or was she sending him a message which he has not understood as yet because he feels that she has betrayed him once again?

4) Francie appears to be a very important link for Sloane. How did she know that Will worked for the CIA. Sloane, I thought was under the impression that Will Tippen was a drug addict and after he planted that fake druggie, I assumed he felt that Will was no longer a threat. So, why would Francie bother to interrogate him?

5) Vaughn never fails to reinforce our belief in him. He is as yet a loyal, honest, moral person with unfailing integrity. However, how are he and Sydney going to explain the fact that he did such an extensive study on Irina? Richard Lewis' character indicated to Sydney that downloading the russian software was a serious offense. Will Vaughn's motivations for doing so get him off the hook?

Conclusion: Irina will shock us once again.
Sydney and Vaughn will have a lasting, honest but at times turbulent relationship.
Vaughn will perhaps be a suspect once again (when Kendall investigates what went wrong) because Will will remember Vaughn questioning him about what he was working on. Will knows that he divulged important information to him about the satellite and of course he will have no memories of the person who actually sabotaged the Jack/Irina operations- namely evil Francie hypnotizing him.

Just to respond to one of your questions for now, Will's not a threat any more, he's a tool. They can get intel out of him.

Lots of good points, but I think some of us have forgotten a few things that have dropped over the past two seasons that could shed more light on what is up:

My first thing is Irina. I know how much everyone loves her, and there is no doubt about her charms. Jack warned us about her, and even WE love her. Imagine poor Sydney. But, have we all forgotten the PROPHECY?? If Rambaldi predicted one of these women would mean the end of the world, then I have to always assume Irina is a bad bad person. There is no way it could be Sydney. Irina is evil. Accept it.

Second, I have to wonder about Jack and how much of his life has been a total dupe. I mean, do we even know for sure that he is Sydney's father?? Think about it. I mean, really think about it. The way Sloane looks at Sydney. Sloane did know Irina before Jack married her. How do we know they haven't been planning all of this for years? Last week was the clincher for me though. When Sloane kissed Sydney and called her his greatest accomplishment. I think Sloane might be Sydney's dad.
It would explain lots of things for me anyway, especially the way Sloane has always "allowed" Sydney to be a double, because I assure you he has always known she was a double.

Well those are a couple of my thoughts. My apologies to Mr. Abrams if I ruined any of his future surprises. I frickin love this show...
 
Great episode....Finally Jack left the CIA Headquarters!! He hasn't done that in 4 episodes or so..Finally JJ has him doing some missions. Hard to tell if Irina really duped Jack or she is duping Sloane and Jack is unaware. I don't even like her so I hope she is with Sloane and Jack gets revenge on her!!!

Excellent question... I was thinking the same... it doesn't seem smart of the CIA to let someone they don't trust handle something that important, and then never check it...........
 
oh man that was such a good ep!! aww..syd y did u have to question him?!?!?!u could have gotten his keys.....oOoOo so did will actually tell francie..oOoOo so she knows that he is cia... vaughn in syds house in the moring...heeh....well i am in class now..i g2g.....last words...that was a crazy ep...IRINA TOOK THE DARK TURN!!!! i bet jack is soooooooooo sooooooo mad at himself..haha..took out the tracker...kendall was about to blow a fuse!!eww...jack and irina kissed...gross....darn..y did u have to be suspicius bout him?!?!?

Yeah, I was kind of wondering that myself. I mean, taking the guards with her did make her seem that she was working with the CIA, but why did she look up at the satellite? She knew that Jack was watching it. Was she trying to tell him something?
 
Oh my gosh, this was such a great ep!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I loved it, ALIAS is back!!!!!!!!!!!! I think my
fave scene was when Syd and Vaughn are playing hockey and then they do that little kiss b4
she leaves :D It was soooooooooooo cute!!!!! I also liked when Syd said she won't spy on someone she loves, or whatever she said there. Marshall was hilarious. I don't think Irina is
bad. I think she's gettin with Sloane so that she can eventually turn him in to the CIA. Although,
she could have told Jack that, if that's the case. And I loved when she told Syd she loved her ^_^ YEAH, Vaughn's not bad!!!!!! Will is still hot, but I hate how "Francie" is hypnotising him like
that to get intel. I thought it was cool when Jack and Irina kissed, I was actually squealing ^_^
 
Ok i am totally just aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh right now is she bad isnr she bad? Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr :banghead: Also the thought of Sloane being her father is a good thought but dang it to heck that will be just yuck, for lack of better words. :blink: thi s was a great ep lots of great stuff and its got my mind working double time :wizhat: The kiss with Jack and Irina good lord that was just yummy. I really just hope she isnt evil!
 
ok, now its my take.

My questions:

1. How did Irina get in contact with Sloane?
2. What's up with 47? I guess it appears alot? unsure what everyone is referring too ... (2nd season AVID watcher ONLY!)
3. How did jack NOT check the manuscript in inventory?
4. How did will get talking to evil frannie that he works for CIA, if it was ONLY A DREAM ...? Oh and a remark about this, I believe this to be foreshadowing of Will telling Vaughan that he used the 11 satallite ... V will remember and say somethign to will, will trace back to Fran-meister!
5. Who IS sydney's father? still thinking it is jack ... don't think it sloane for a couple of reasons, but most being that they have established Jack as the father and built a HUGE relationship on that ... what would happen to Jack/Syd if it was proven false? THe show would get all sorts of screwed up especially with everyone else in the show being fake. If you noticed, they have had a lot of switching of good/evil in the show. Some things need to remain stable in order to build the plot ...I think Jack will remain stable for now as will Vaughan. But you never know ... I don't think it is like that (or should I say HOPE it is not like that...)
6. How many eps will there be this season ... with 19 being Endgame ... something happens where someone gets caught/destroyed? The manuscript deciphered?
7. Irina, Good or Evil? I say a little of both, but I feel she might right a wrong with the sloan situation (in reference to helping syd leave the CIA ... but then ... where is the fun in that?)

I see a cat and mouse game ... Sloane has YET to kill syd ... he could have when he jump out of teh focus into the truck, but he didn't ... WHY? Did he strike a deal with Irina to keep syd alive? all these questions, we need answers ..

I don't know waht you guys are saying about waiting 3 weeks ... we only have 2 weeks .. March 16 till the next ep ...
 
u never now, with every action, there is always a reason, irina might not be bad, maybe its part of her plan to kill sloane, but u do not now how mad i was when yeager when he was investigating vaughn, but when vaughn cleared up everything at the end, that he was investigating irina, i was relieved when he wasn't evil! i was like thank u god! im gunna go watch it now. lol
 
I'm still not convinced that Irina is bad. I dont think she's working for Sloane, I think it's part of a plan. I think she wants Sloane to think she's on his side, but she's trying to get the other Rambaldi artifacts from him to return to the CIA.

I think that Jack and Irina are working together for the CIA, but knowing that Kendall wouldnt give the manuscript to use as bait, they took it on their own and replaced it with post-its..
