Alias Emmy Consideration

well, i think that for the last golden globes, jg submitted the pilot as her clip. at the time, i thought it was the best one since it was my favorite episode and definitely showcased her acting in a great light. also, it was the pilot, so there was no way voters couldn't get into the show. ;)
you mean the emmy's???

the first time she was nominated for the golden globe, she won ... against other great actresses, and it was her first nomination ... she beat Sela War for Once and Again ... ;)

Sydney and Dixon's emotions were running so high, you could feel their tears. This may be Carl Lumbly's best shot at a nod

That scene between Syd and Dixon was a great moment for "Alias" ... and hopefully the voters will see how great actors they are ... ;)

One thing that both Jennifer Garner and Victor Garber have in their favor is that they both seem to be well-liked in the industry--and as much as we'd like to think that doesn't make a difference, we all know it does. (I don't know enough about Ms Olin to know of her reputation--or know whether she's well-known enough around Hollywood, for that matter.)

I think a lot of people know her. Lena Olin's first movie in the U. S. was with Juliette Binoche and Daniel Day Lewis AND she was terrific, playing a bohemian artist Sabina. If you can find it, watch it. Then think about how Jack could have been "seduced". And as a secondary note, a young Derek de Lint (Gerard Cuvee from Passage 2) played Franz her lover in Geneva.

Chocolat with Juliette Binoche was also very good...she played Josehine. In Queen of the Damned she played Queen Marharet.

I've heard she is family oriented so probably didn't do that many pictures to keep herself in the fan's eyes.

no, it was the golden globes. she was nominated again last year. and put up the pilot as her consideration tape. i distinctly remember being very upset that she didn't win.

I think Jennifer GArner, Victor Garber and Lena Olin are all great. Carl Lumbly is also a joy to watch as Dixon. I still find it incredible that no one even considers that Michael Vartan could be nominated for anything. What he's just the pretty face. He was also good in Dark Turn.

Sorry, I just think that the supporting actor category is way too competitive and crowded for Mr Vartan to make it in this season. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Mr Garber.
;)
