Anne of Green Gables

Thanks so much for making this forum Charlie. I'd like to think it was because of my asking, but then again others helped.

So I just finished the Anne of Green Gables books, and loved them. What do you guys think? I myself went totally obssessed with them, and read a different one like every 3 days. They're beautifully written by L.M. Montgomery, and it is so hard to imagine there is no more after the 8th book. I love them.

I love the Anne books SO MUCH! I read them all for the first time when I was 11, and I try to re-read them all about every year or so. The first one is the best, but they're all good. I especially liked "Anne of Ingleside" and "Rainbow Valley", where her children (and the neighbor children) were the main characters. And "Rilla of Ingleside" was good too, because it was the only one that has a historical aspect, being based during World War 1.

I still laugh thinking about some of the scenes, like when Anne died her nose green, or when she sold Mr. Harrison's cow thinking it was hers, or when she made her "apology" to Mrs. Lynde. Now I want to read them again!

I love them a lot too. After I was done reading them I had myself wishing I had red hair. I enjoyed when Gilbet asked her to marry him. (can't remember which one right now.)

i love those books too have u guys been to p.e.i were they have tons of thing on anne of green gables.i love books 3 and 6.

Yay! One of my aunt's students lives there now. She told my aunt that she inspired her to read the books and she's now a vet there. She's sending pictures!

I love ALL of the Anne books! I still have them, and I still read them... they're great. My favorite is Anne of the Island... I think that's the hopeless romantic in me.

I really like all of LM Montgomery's books... I have a bunch of her short stories... and I love the Emily series!

I read all the Anne and Emily books. The Emily books get far more melodramatic by the end of the series. Some of the Anne sequels were stronger than others, I found the 2nd one fairly boring, but I really loved the third one, ext. L.M Montgomery really didn't want to write so many sequels to the Anne books, but they were making money, so the publishers wanted her to. By the end, they became a little bleak (in content, the quality of the writing was good). Been years since I read them, like Gr.4, but i think one of Anne's sons, the one who wrote all the poetry, died at war or something. Anyway, I love these Canadian classics!!!

I've read almost all of L.M Montgomery books. My favorites are the Anne of Green Gables series. I started reading the first one when I was 13. I go to PEI each summer but I've never visited Green Gables. I hope to see it one day.

Oh the Anne of Green Gables books...love them! When i saw this topic, i decided to read through it, it felt like i'm going down memory lane. I started reading Anne book1 when i was 12. I still remember some of the parts. Like the part when her hair was green( i think) she just couldn't pull herself to go to school.had to cut it. I liked Anne being so bold and always landing herself in embarassing situations (funny). I only missed the 5th book. My last was Rilla of Ingleside.

one of my really good friends is obsessed beyond words with anne of green gables so one day when i was over at her house she put in the anne of green gables movie from like PBS or something and i was hooked then i watched the two other movies and i was like omg i MUST read the books now

I love Anne of Green Gables. Movies and books, 5 and 6 were my favorites. I still loved them, but I used to be absolutly obbsessed, so my grandparents took me on a vacation to Prince Edward Island. I got to see the play and go to the acctual Green Gables and Lake of Shining Waters. It's soooo beautiful up there.
