Plot: It sounded like just another urban legend: A videotape filled with nightmarish images, leading to a phone call foretelling the viewer's death in exactly seven days. As a newspaper reporter, Rachel Keller was naturally skeptical of the story, until four teenagers all met with mysterious deaths exactly one week after watching just such a tape. Allowing her investigative curiosity to get the better of her, Rachel tracks down the video... and watches it. Now she has just seven days to unravel the mystery of the Ring.
The Ring (2002)

I was at Hollywood Videos last night when I was tempt to rent The Ring on DVD. I was wondering if someone can tell me how scary was it? When were the scariest seens? And Give me details about the movie? I wanna watch but I don't scare myself so that I am up all this week! I need :asleep: cause I have testing for 2 weeks straight! So someone tell me please!

bah, it's not scary!! It's just freaky! Only because the scenes are all quiet and then there's a big flash of light or someone screams or something. It's not scary at all!! You should see it!! Those reviewers are stupid, that movie is NOT scary.

Basically this girl went up to this cabin to see with some friends and saw this tape, some weird stuff. She dies sometimes later, along with her other friends. Her aunt investigates it, gets all wiggied out, talks to her exhusband about it. It's really cool, you should see it! I'll tell you more about it later if you want! Oh there's this scene on a boat where a horse gets all freaked out and jumps off the boat and gets chopped up by propellers, you can see the water stain red. So yeah, if you don't like seeing that kind of stuff, just cover your face with a napkin or something, LOL!

My brother was talking about it the other day "The ring is scary" btw he's 5. No 6. 6? I don't know, anyway, I start going into this whole rant about how I really want to see it, but it looks like a ripoff of feardotcom, you know, you watch the movie you die, you go to the website you die. I didn't see either of them though, so you know it could be very different and I wouldn't even know it.

If you like movies like "The Sixth Sense" and "The Others", you'd probably like this. It's more of a ghost story than a blood-and-guts horror movie. It has a semi-detective story feel to it, and it definitely keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering what's going to happen next. It was very creepy to me because it dealt with the ghost of a little girl murdered by a parent, and the scenes at the bottom of the well, and then later, the last scene from the tape where she came out of the well, were especially scary. I recommend it; it's one of the better horror movies I've seen in the last few years.

I finally went out and rented the Ring this weekend. It was okay. Kind of sad, really. And I usually get completely freaked during scary movies, but this one wasn't too bad. It was definately like the Sixth Sense.

yeah me too. it was one of those movies that is scary while you watch it but not after. and the part when she came out of the tv wasnt scary like everyone said :(
