Armageddon?

My take on this, is that the end of the world, would be the day you die ...

Even if your soul continues to another world ... you won't be on this world ...
well, if you are Shirley MacClain, you would come back several times as different people ...

Kalan...Yes, I have read all of the Left Behind books that are out. I love them!

Anyway, there are currently 23 nations in the EU. They are adding new ones each year. The book of Daniel states that the last World power would be the revived Roman Empire. It the EU is not that then....I don't know. And the first sign of the world coming to an end is when Isreal becomes a nation. Jesus said this generation will not pass. Hmmm.. Isreal became a nation in 1967. A generation in the Bible is 51.2 years. You do the math and take a look at the headlines.

Remember, this is my opinion. My interperation.
Umm... They became a nation in 1948.

I am sorry, I made a mistake, the bible looks as Isreal becoming a nation when they gained control of Jerusalem. I will get some bible verses on here later tonight. I use the KJV bible. I am sure I will get attacked for that.

Well, as a Catholic I put very little stock in Revelations. the official catholic position is that Revelations is nothing more than metaphorical language. It is an ancient explanation for the end of the world. Post-Jesus, his followers thought that the end of the world was really close. So John (or whoever wrote it) used metaphors to describe the return of Christ.

In short, I think that this horsemen, peace, new world order stuff is a bunch of baloney.
The most fascinating argument I've seen about Revelations is that it was about Nero (whose name works out to 666), who most certainly was an apocalyptic force to a great many Christians (although not the entire world). That would also explain why the time was "near."
;)

well most predictions by nostradamus are so general that we can apply them to lots of things. he's also wrong a lot. for instance, in reference to the second coming nostradamus says that it will occur in the twentieth century (i think it was he who said that the world would come to an end in the millennium, the year 2000)...well, it's already the 21st

I tend to agree with you there. They always say he predicted it after the fact. I have been going to a great Bible prophecy, www.jvim.com , he is linking what is going on in the world with what the bible has to say. The newsletter section of the site is great.
