British Army ratpacks no good for Katrina survivors apparently

the threat to victims of the hurrican Katrina in the US is over now, but the reason for blocking distribution of british army ration packs apparently isn't according to the americans.

they still don't want our beef!!!

whatever food critics say about british army ration packs, when you are living without cover in the great outdoors they are very welcome!

when you wipe out all cattle that only live to a certain age and repopulate, why is it that a ban on our beef is still in effect? it was down to contaminated feed and the problem is gone now. only the long term effects from eating that contaminated beef is to worry about now.

some world partners that makes us Brits! One day this problem might be over, in the meantime the vast majority of us have no problems eating british beef, when we can afford it!

But remember, it works both ways. From the same article....

Some African countries such as Angola refused to distribute GM maize sent as aid from the US, because they feared its impact on human health.

.... and not everybody in the US agrees with it. ;)

But US newspapers used the story to lambaste the government anyway, adding it to a list of criticisms claiming its general response was inefficient and incompetent. The British rations story was a "tale of good intentions colliding with a cumbersome bureaucracy", according to the Washington Post.

yeah, theres some wacky stuff going on and i'm not sure what is real denial through health issues and which is political

british ratpacks have loads of different flavours (well, alright, 3 or 4!) and the little tub of beef paste for your dog biscuits could easily have been thrown away by the users. if they care to return them, i'll take a load of their hands, i'm used to eating them and they are fine even if american soldiers don't agree
