Funny, I hated Pretty Woman--found it insulting that Hollywood thinks I would buy into that kind of fantasy (bleah). My husband actually liked it, and he usually hates "chick flicks"--and he despises Richard Gere.

But then, I'm not big on "chick flicks"--at least the non-romance kind. I hated Steel Magnolias and Terms of Endearment, too. But I liked The Joy Luck Club (and to my amazement, so did my husband).

On the other hand, I liked Sleepless in Seattle and several other Meg Ryan romances and I do like other romances as well. I didn't flip over Runaway Bride or Notting Hill, but I found them entertaining.
;)

Joy Luck Club! That movie is sooo good! It's more than a superficial chick flick though. Much more.

I find Pretty Woman amusing... but it is really incredibly degrading from a feminist's perspective. I mean, on the cover, it's not even Julia Roberts' body! And she's like this completely helpless woman who must be saved by the suave, rich, older man. Give me a break.

OMI GOSH!!!!! I HATE CHICK FLICKS! There all about "oops i cheated on you, so ill make it up with sleeping with someone else. O im sorry i havent had sex with you yet, then o felgercarb did it again." Then the dumb sleep around person gets back together with the old person and their like ooo! i did the same thing so lets get back together. THE CHICK FLICKS NEVER END!!!!

As a man, I liked A Walk to Remember, Charlie's Angels, Jerry Maguire, and She's all that.

I liked those one's the best. I'm a man, and I hate to say this, but I cried during A Walk to Remember.
