Childhood Memories!

I remember I would hide my cat-food eating too lol...I didn't want anyone to know lol!...I was like 5 though! haha...I'm proud though that I am now cat-food free....cat-food addicted anonymous helped me a lot lol j/k

Haha, I remember one time in preschool, this girl (who is actually the girl who hit me in kindergarten and I was told to hit her back) and I got into an argument on how a horse neighs! Talk about trivial. And, as I recall, we were both wrong.

Oooo, I have a happy memory! Before I moved from Hawaii (when I was 4), we stayed at this hotel that had dolphins. My best friend at the time, who I hardly remember anymore and haven't seen in like 15 years, and I would sit near the water and just watch them like all day and make up stories about how we were going to ride away on the dolphins. Plus, there was this huge whole pineapple in the hotel room. I seriously remember it as the biggest pineapple ever.

Yeah, most of my happy childhood memories are from when I lived in Hawaii, which was up until I was 4, so they are pretty vague. I usually need pictures to jog my memory. I definately fall into that "strange child" category though! Mostly, I would hole myself up in my room and just read (once I learned to read, of course... I have no clue what I did before I learned!). And I didn't like to be touched... I didn't like to be held (I'm really afraid of heights now, so that makes some sense). I just wanted people to leave me alone (especially at school). LoL I don't think that has changed all too much.

ooh, i remember that i taught myself how to read by reading the comics section everyday. my dad reads the newspaper everyday and i remember he used to (and still does, actually) pull out the comics and give them to me everyday and i would just lay them out on the floor and sprawl on top of them reading.

actually, i don't remember any of this. my parents told me all of this. but hey, i can imagine it!! :D they also told me that some of their friends used to come over and see me reading the comics on the floor and say, "is she really reading?" and my parents would say, "yes" and they'd just laugh. i don't know how old i was though.

I had a really hard time learning to read. I had to see a special teacher and everything... but once I grasped it, I was off and running. My boyfriend, on the other hand, was taught to read when he was 3 (his mom was a teacher). There are pictures of me next to my little brother (then a baby), showing him my picture books and "reading" to him. I wonder what exactly I told him. LoL

I also had a speech problem. I couldn't say my 'r's at all. They would come out as 'w's. I worked for 2 years on that one with another teacher. I also had really bad ear infections (I still get them at least once a year, but not as bad), so I vaguely remember going to a specialist for that. My mom recently told me that they put a tube in my ear, which fell out. I don't remember any of that! In first and second grades, I got pnemonia a lot. In third grade, I got bronchitis. I missed like weeks of school. My pediatrician was really cool though. He'd come in singing and call me "miss Leah," and he'd stay late at the office just so he could see me if I couldn't get an appointment at normal hours.

hahahaha!! you do know that i don't look like my avatar, right? just kidding. i imagine people as their avatars too! :D

and thanks. i was actually a pretty cute kid, if i say so myself. ^_^ and then the powers that be said, "okay, that's enough cuteness for you. no more!!" and it all went downhill from there ... :( oh well.

LMAO!!! I thought you did look like your avatar! lol! You don't?...oh no! i had you all pictured lol!

I was such a little girly girl when i was little hehe! My mom would do my hair all curly and id wear poofy dresses to school with puffed sleeves and boys lol...i seem to dislike dresses now lol...and my mom let me dress myself sometimes in kindergatrten...i would wear the weirdest stuff...id put on suspenders and goggles and bright purple pants lol...I was a stylin kindergartner!! and I had this yellow basketball shirt...oh man...those were the days...lol

maaan...i love it when kids want to dress themselves. it's just hilarious. if my kid says that to me, i'm not arguing. i don't care if it's embarrassing for me. i'll just take a whole bunch of pictures and in the long run, it'll be far more embarrassing for him/her than for me. :D

LMAO!!! that reminds of Big Daddy..."I let Julian become the smelly kid in class?"...lol! i wasn't smelly...my mom at least made me bathe lol...but i was dressed so funny!...I WANT my kids to dress themselves!...just so i can have a few laughs lol!...I dont care if the other moms think im a psycho lol

i imagine people as their avatars too!

I do too!

As a kid, I don't think I was that cute (maybe because I look confused in a majority of my childhood pictures... no clue why... maybe because of all those specialists! )... I was just REALLY teeny. Of course, nothing has changed  but so life goes.

Oh GOSH, my mom insisted on dressing me until about 5th grade! She'd put me in these weird matching sweatshirt-sweatpants outfits and make us matching flowery dresses and all that. I also had a pair of hot pink (like screaming hot pink) tennis warmups. I had really really long hair until about 6th grade, so I was all into the barrettes and headbands and hairbows. Haha, I was into the puffed sleeves thing, too! And the tights and huge sweatshirts... :::shivers::: And in 5th grade, the cool thing was tying button down shirts at the waist. Oh man, I was one styling little kid...

oh god... the 80s was a TERRIBLE fashion decade. i remember wearing all of those clothes too!! oh god... the legging with the stirrups and the hot pink turtleneck... *shudders* :o_O:

LMAO!! I was gonna put somewhere that i looked like an 80;s kindergartner lol! I sooo wanna live in the 80's...it think it would be so fun to dress yourself in that decade lmao!! I love 80's movies...they're the best lol!
