we-as in me and my imaginary little friend!LOL< i honestly dont know what i was thinking, oh my ...LMAO!! im in tears from laughter right now, yes i ahve an imaginary friend and he reads with me!!!hehehehe!

I know this is from a couple of days ago, but I just saw it and it cracked me up. Now I'm picturing you talking like Gollum from Lord of the Rings..."Yessss, we liked this book....NO! We didn't!" LMAO! :sideroll:

Anyway, I'll probably be reading classics all summer. That's about all I ever read (but I'm trying to read more modern lit. to prepare for grad school.) Does anyone like Henry James and Edith Wharton? They're a little hard to warm up to (especially James) but in terms of plot, their novels are really great. (I especially love Edith Wharton's The Age of Innocence and The House of Mirth.)

I just remember Ethan Frome being horribly depressing. I think I read it all in one day, and then was depressed all night. But then again, I guess most of Edith Wharton's books are a little depressing, but none as much as that one. And there's a movie based on it too, but everytime I notice that it's on, I avoid it because I know how sad it'll be. I'm a whimp...

I read The House of Mirth and LOVED it! Depressing, yes, but soo good. I read it after I saw the movie (with Gillian Anderson)... it made me cry. I read part of the Age of Innocence, but I don't know... it didn't really hook me.

I read the Odyssey in 8 or 9th grade... GAH it was for school and I thought it would never end.

yeah i think so too. some parts of it were interesting but others... ugh. i love greek myths, but this was just... aaaaaaaah too much prose lol

I never had to read it for school, since I changed school districts. I kind of want to read it just so I can say, "yes, I've read the Iliad..." and feel all smart. But I'll never actually have the ambition. LoL

Hehe, yes it does, but so many people have read it too. It just isn't as impressive to me, for some reason. LoL I think I'm a book snob.

I read basically everything that sounds good. I kind of stay away from fantasy though, 'cause that's my brother's realm (when he actually reads a book). Have you ever read Everwhere? My sister keeps telling me to read it, but I haven't gotten past like page 20.

I'm almost finished with Pride and Prejudice!!!

it's really really good, and there are some moments when I just laugh out loud.

and Cath's just started reading Jane Eyre, which I've read, but then quit because the first parts are boring, so we're walking to class with our books in front of our faces. watch out, Mr Pole!

AHHH! NO I HATED THAT BOOK! probably b/c it was taught by my teacher who just this old lady who looks like george washington and has had the BIGGEST attitiude since she came back from back surgery.
