Columns, etc.

Hey VH,

Just out of curiousity, have you considered submitting anything for the Alias magazine, because it's my personal opinion that if they haven already offered you a job they're a bunch of flaming galahs.

cheers,

Froggy

Righto, Froggy. I agree.

I certainly haven't heard from them. I did send a letter.
;)

Verdantheart, I love your columns. They are so great to read. You really give good insight to the show. I just finished reading last seasons (I worked backwards from the season 3 premiere) and you answered some of my lingering questions. (y) I agree with you about Jack being the loving father ;) though I do hope that Irina is good deep down somewhere  Thanks for doing what you do.

I just want to say that I love reading your columns. They are so insightful... that, and I love Jack. I love the interaction between Jack and Sydney. Thanks for taking your time to write these columns and continue with the great work ;)

Thanks! And, obviously, I love Jack as well. It was his relationship with Sydney--and his initially disguised love of her that immediately drew me into Alias. Writing the columns gives me a chance to focus my thoughts about the series and--wow--actually get to share them with other people who are interested in the series. It's really a privilege to be able to do this and I'm glad there seems to be so many people who appreciate what I'm doing.
;)

hehehehehehehe...are you sure you love Jack, or are you trying to pull our legs  J/k

PS: Sorry I got so behind on your columns, but now that I'm watching ALias, I'll do my best to read them every week

Well, you had to wait until things started up again, didn't you? & besides, I got behind in updating this list! Sorry about that. But I'm caught up again.
;)

Just bumping this up so I can find it more easily with search turned off . . .
;)

(Gosh, noticing more weeks without a Spy dad column . . . no wonder this season has been less entertaining . . .)

OMG! Are paid you to do this?

You should get a job analyzing stuff like this. I've never seen anyone do it so well. I mean, I write my recaps/reviews but they're just silly stuff served with fluff on the side. You go so deep into things, examine everything by every angle. I know few people who have the patience and skills to do that!

I'm serious! You should send in a resume to the New York Times or something! You are God :angelic: when it comes to writing these columns!! :D

V, this was posted in the SD-1 fan-fic forum a couple of days back, thought you might possibly be interested.

BenBella Books is developing a non-fiction anthology on Alias as part of its Smart Pop line. Previous books in this line include Taking the Red Pill: Science, Philosophy and Religion in The Matrix and Seven Seasons of Buffy.

If you are a writer who is interested in writing a non-fiction essay on the show, please contact me and I'll get you the details.

Thanks for the info. ;)
✌️

Thanks, guys! They've actually asked for the "best of what I've done to review." What would you send? (Essay, not fiction). ;)

V--
You did one essay, at least I thot it was an essay: Jack as a tragic hero.
Or would a season ending review, i.e. the one you did for the third season was so funny/satirical --it was a classic. (y)
Too bad they don't want fiction, because you wrote three excellent ones.

I've always been a big fan of your season 3 review, "Why didn't we like season three as well." as well as the season three summary.

ETA: After looking at some of the other stuff they've (Benbella) done I would go with something that focuses on characters or themes. I think almost any of your Spy Dad columns would work for this.
