Some of the members here at Alien Soup are very talented artists.
Perhaps a competion {with a prize winner} might be a way to get a nice custom site logo.
You would need the permission to use the image from the owner but that shouldn't be an issue, especially if there is a prize involved. Allow the artist to sign the graphic as well as perhaps doing an article on the chosen image and how it came to be.
Personally, I don't feel my talents at copy/paste/merge would suffice so I would not participate. Besides, You would want something unique and related to the material of the site.
All it would take is a topic post that states the design parameters and let the talent go for it.
Just throwing an idea out there.
