That has nothing to do with cancellation. That just means that the actor is obligated if the series is on the air.

Did anyone hear that before the 2 season that the "big shots", wanted 2 people to be gone from the show. That there was a BIG shakeup because the show is very expensive to produce. And, at the end of the "talking" Sid's friend is going to die. At first it was suppose to be Will and at the last moment "they" changed their mind and said only one person would be leaving. But, also at the end of all the decussion the powers that be said that the people who would be saved would be JG. That's all EVERYONE elese is and can be REMOVED! (thats a scary thought!)

hmmm well I never heard that, but of course JG would be saved, she's the main character. The others... I dunno... hmm... it'd be weird without them on the show, I'm sure if this is true that they'll keep the most important characters... but I dunno, I've never heard about this at all...

he stuck with alias for 4 more seasones wheter he wants to stay or not. several ppl of the cast are stuck with alias for 4 more years.

Unless they get let go. They can always kill off a character or put them off somewhere where you never see them . . . Buffy the Vampire Slayer often did this with characters that they decided to kill for effect or that weren't working out (Riley). They even kept one (Spike) that was working out better than they'd ever dreamed.

So, really, it's usually in the producer's hands. If the talent has a long-term contract (like virtually all of the performers coming into the cast of a new program), they are bound to it until cut or their contract runs to term--of course, there's renegotiation, but that can be messy, as Rob Lowe found out. Others can come in on a year-to-year basis--that's what Lena Olin did, and that works out since she's not there every episode and she didn't sign on at the beginning.

Vaughn's contract is for 6 years I think... I read that somewhere before, last year or something, around a Dark Turn when everyone was going insane and such.

I like the whole cast on Alias! If any of them leave it woul suck! OKay, well maybe if Alice was to never show up again, i'd be okay w/ that! lol. But she's not a regular on the show, so she dont count!
