Could you recommend about GOOD space films or shows?

Star Trek The Next Generation is worth viewing. Additionally, I would say Star Trek Voyager is really worth you giving it a shot as well. Other than that, in films I've always enjoyed the Star Trek and Star Wars films. It doesn't sound like you're a fan of Star Trek TOS (the original series?) I respect that. Not every bit of sci fi is going to appeal to every sci fi fan. I've got some family members and a next door neighbor that are into Doctor Who, which is a show that has never appealed to me.

cargo (a swiss film from 2009, pretty slow, but good)
I'm not familiar with that one; checked Netflix but it isn't available yet. :(

For others who may be interested, here is the description...
In the distant future, mankind has packed itself into space stations to escape the destruction of Earth's environment. Aboard the cargo ship Kassandra, Dr. Laura Portmann (Anna-Katharina Schwabroh) escorts a hibernating crew toward new hope on the planet Rhea. But as the days of solitude tick by, she begins to fear she isn't the only waking traveler. This haunting chiller marks the feature debut of Swiss directors Ivan Engler and Ralph Etter.

Hey,

I can THROUGHLY reccomend the Farscape series! This had me addicted. It's about an astronaught who gets sucked through a wormhole and comes out in another galaxy.

Its deep, funny, tragic and has good attention to science. The colplex relationships of the characters and love stories are really touching and the action, villans and plot lines are fantastic.

Really hope you try it and love it mate!

Please let me know if you want anymore info.

As far as movies go - Bladerunner! Its slow moving but the entire movie builds to one epic speech at the end - a masterpiece

Kind regards

Seen Fringe? Doctor Who? Transformers? (As in every single series since 1984). They're all my favourite sci fi shows/movies.

I have to agree with Peter about farscape, not sure about the attention to science bit though

an astronaught thrown... hmm somewhere :D

anyway i saw most of the show. its nice... Although the puppets are a bit funny.

I have Space above and beyond on dvd was a cool series, another one that got cancelled early though just like Flashforward, Caprica & Stargate Universe! There are no good sci-fi shows on at the moment but early 2012 there is a film called 'The Darkest Hour' looks quite good from the early trailers

Have you seen the "Space: Above & Beyond" (S:AAB) series yet? If you like space based action shows & movies, I think you'll like S:AAB.
The writing team for "Space Above and Beyond" was headed by Ira Steven Behr, and of course you know him as lead writer for Star Trek: DS9 and Battlestar Galactica.

I actually think Battlestar is a direct result of Fox's stupid 'kill' for Space Above and Beyond, because the Cylons are a mere renaming of the "Silicates" from that series. I think he just kept working on the scripts until he found a vehicle.
