Chapter 2

Syd and Vaughn stayed the night in the warehouse doing exactly what you think. The next morning as the sun was gently shining over them through the window, Vaughn woke up with a smile on his face and a sleeping Sydney by his side. Soon after, Syd began to wake up as well. As she did, she opened her eyes only to be met by those of Agent Vaughn.

“Good morning. Did you sleep well?” Vaughn asked.

“Of course. I’m with you.” She smiled sweetly and reached her head up to meet her lips with Vaughn’s.

Not so shortly after they both got up from the cold ground and put their clothes back on. Then Vaughn grabbed Sydney from behind at her hips and began kissing her neck. All Syd could do was sit there and enjoy it. She quickly turned around and gazed into Vaughn’s passionate eyes. She briefly kissed Vaughn followed by a long moment simply nestled in his warm embrace.

“Syd, since you’ve quit the CIA, what do you plan on doing?” Vaughn asked still holding Sydney in his arms.

“I don’t think I’ll do anything. I mean, the government doesn’t pay us much but I’ve been on back to back missions for almost 2 years with no time to spend my money. I’ve got quite a bit saved up. I think I’ll just take some time off ofr now. What about you?” Sydney replied, still not letting go of Vaughn.

“Same here. Maybe we can plan our wedding.” Vaughn suggested.

“Great idea. Maybe I can ask Francie for some help. We’ve both looked forward to it before. I know she’d love to help out. I think we need to do some female bonding too. I mean, she has been acting a little awkward lately. I feel like I don’t know her anymore. “

Vaughn kissed Sydney on the cheek and followed with the caressing of his hand. “I’m sure everything will be fine. Now…what shall we do today?”

“I don’t know, but let’s enjoy ourselves.” Syd said excitedly for now she and Vaughn were to be married. :rolleyes:

I don't think they've ever said anything on the show with even the word love in it. The next move for them is to admit it. I'll have the next chapter up soon, tomorrow morning hopefully.

You've been doing great so far! I really like it.....and of course I wish Syd and Vaughn would say I love you to one another! Grrr.....

And a question for you....mer vaughn. Where did you get the mer part, because my dance team has something about saying merrrrrr.....and you're name made me wonder!

My name is Merissa and I decided to use part of my name and part of Michael Vaughn's name. My friends also try to shorten my name into mer as a nickname so I chose to mix it with hot boy Vaughn.

Chapter 3

Sydney and Vaughn left the warehouse hand in hand then got into Vaughn’s car.

“Syd, let’s go somewhere special. We can come back for your car later.” Said Vaughn as he and Syd strapped on their seatbelts.

“I’d love that. So…where are we going?” asked Syd with the biggest grin on her face. She was so happy to be with Vaughn, it was almost unbelievable.

“Well, as much as I don’t want to do this, I think we should tell your father before anything. He deserves to know. Maybe he won’t be so mad considering we’re telling him ourselves and he’s not finding out from a different source,” suggested Syd’s new fiancé.

“Alright. We’ve got to get it over with at some point. Why not now.” Syd replied as she and Vaughn drove towards CIA headquarters.

Sydney and Vaughn could see Jack and Kendall in one of the conference rooms through the glass windows. They must have been discussing the CIA’s latest mission they’d have to do without Agents Bristow and Vaughn. Syd and Vaughn had barely gotten clearance to come in but they convinced the guards that they had important new for Jack and that they still had some things they’d left there.

Walking with Vaughn towards the conference room, still holding his hand, Sydney asked, “Do you think we should tell Kendall our news?”

“Well, he’s bound to find out one way or another. I think telling your father will be hard enough. Maybe we should leave it up to Kendall to find out on his own,” replied Vaughn with those cute wrinkles on his forehead that Sydney went weak in the knees over.

They went through the door of the conference room and entered with both Jack and Kendall staring at them, their hands never parting.

“Dad, can Vaughn and I speak to you…alone?” asked Sydney as she gave Kendall a look motioning for him to leave the room.

“Why hello Miss Bristow. So nice of you to join us. Now that you and Agent Vaughn have quit, Devlin doesn’t think your father can retrieve Sloane and your mother alone. I am now his co-Director. Whatever you need to tell him, you can tell me,” said Kendall with his usual rude tone.

“Actually Director Kendall, this is personal and has nothing to do with you or the CIA. Please excuse us,” said Vaughn, equally rude and fed up with Kendall’s impolite behavior.

Kendall got the hint and finally left the room. Meanwhile, Jack had sat down in the closest chair and had a concerned look on his face. He was very curious as to what personal matter his daughter and Michael Vaughn had to discuss with him. “Sydney, Vaughn, what is it? I thought you two were done with the CIA. You didn’t come to ask for your jobs back did you?” Jack said, not exactly in a welcoming tone.

“Dad, Vaughn and I are still sure that we don’t want to work for the CIA anymore, especially now that Kendall is back. We wanted to tell you something and we don’t want you to get mad. This is an awkward situation for all of us. Dad…Vaughn and I are engaged,” Sydney said, hoping her father would yell at her and cause a scene.

“What! Are you serious?!” Jack said loudly, jumping out of his seat. Sydney got scared and latched on to Vaughn’s arm. Then something happened that neither of them expected.

“I am so happy for you!” Jack exclaimed while wrapping his arms around the cute couple. Syd gave Vaughn and look of confusion. Was her dad actually happy for them? This was definitely weird.

Syd and Vaughn just sat in Jack’s arms, not exactly sure what to say next.

Hope you like it. Don't worry, the next chapter has more Syd and Vaughn intimate moments. I'll post it soon, granted you've reviewed and liked it so far. :D

HA HA HA!!! That was GREAT! That was SOOOO funny! Hee hee hee... :D (And that's saying something 'cause I usually don't like the Happy-Jack reaction to this kind of thing)

:P

For those of you who can't wait until tomorrow, her's the next chapter. Chapter five will be the best so far so don't worry if ths chapter doesn't go the way you expected. R/R and enjoy! :rolleyes:

Chapter 4

After what seemed like an eternity for both Sydney and Vaughn, Jack let go. There was an awkward silence as Syd and Vaughn stared at each other in amazement.

“Dad, are you okay? I mean, we didn’t expect you do be exactly happy about this,” said Sydney.

“Yeah, of course I am. Sydney, I’ve never been really accepting of your boyfriends as of yet but I still want the best for you. When Danny asked my permission to marry you I was stunned. I mean, I hardly knew the guy. But Vaughn…well…trust me, I know him. I’ve seen his records. I don’t care who you marry Sydney, as long as you are happy. I know that Agent Vaughn is who will keep you happy,” Jack replied with an endearing smile.

“Well, that’s great dad. We’re glad you are so accepting.” Syd wasn’t quite sure how to respond to her father. She’d never seen him like this before.

“Now, just because I’m happy about your engagement doesn’t mean I’m happy about other things. I appreciate you notifying me of your…arrangement but I still don’t like the fact that you two are running away from the CIA,” Jack said as his smile went away and the all-too-stern Jack came back.

“Now Jack, you don’t understand. Neither of us wants to live this life anymore. We can’t take the stress. Besides, I want to be able to spend time with my wife outside of work,” Vaughn stated as he gently wrapped his arm around Sydney’s waist, not at all embarrassed being that it was in front of her father. “We hope you can respect our wishes and keep us out of any CIA activity regarding Sloane and Derevko.”

Sydney and Vaughn left the conference room after they’d persuaded Jack not to involve them in CIA work any longer. They both went their separate ways, but only to collect the remaining items they’d left in their desks. They met back up and left the building…together.

* * *

Vaughn was sitting in the driver’s seat of his car and was headed towards Syd’s apartment.

“Vaughn…I mean, Michael?” said Syd.

Vaughn seemed a little bit shocked, as he’d never heard Sydney call him Michael before. “Yes,” he replied.

“I thought we were going to do something special today,” Syd said, remembering back to the warehouse earlier that day.

“We are. It’s a surprise. Just don’t get too excited but it’s not a big surprise or anything. It’s just something we’ve never done before. Well, I have, but it will be new for you. Don’t worry,” he said reassuringly,” you’ll like it. He took her hand with his and gently planted a sweet kiss. Then he smiled his to-die-for smile and made Sydney almost melt in her seat.

“Why are we going to my place then?” asked Sydney.

“Because there are a few things we need to pick up there.”

* * *

Vaughn pulled the car into Sydney’s driveway and turned off the engine. “Syd, you’re not going in,” he said placing his hand over hers as she went to undo her seatbelt.

“But…I don’t understand. Why can’t I go into my own house?”

“It’s part of the surprise. Just stay here. Remember…you can trust me,” Vaughn said with his sweet smile again. He lightly kissed Sydney on her forehead and then again on her lips. She them remembered why she loved him so much.

* * *

Vaughn made multiple trips in and out of Sydney’s house. He did not make her close her eyes but he didn’t let he know what he was doing either. He went in empty-handed and came out with big boxes. After three trips inside and three boxes tightly squeezed into the back seat of the car, Vaughn jumped back into the driver’s seat and started the car.

“I know I’m not supposed to know what’s going on, but what’s in the boxes?” Syd couldn’t help but be curios.

“Nothing…important. I didn’t rob you or anything. Just wait and see. It will only be another 15 minutes or so until you find out what’s going on.” Vaughn said, loving the suspense he’d built up for the love of his life.

* * *

15 minutes later, just as Vaughn had promised, they approached a house unfamiliar to Sydney.

“We’re here,” said Vaughn excitedly.

“Where are we?” asked Syd.

All Vaughn could say was, “This is where I live.”
