Drama Cruel Intentions

I was bored today so I decided to watch my DVD of Cruel Intentions again. I hadn't watched it in about a year so I had forgotten a little bit of what happened. I have to see, even though it was probably the fifth time I had seen the movie, I was still amazed when it ended. The cleverness, how it goes from being comical to intensely dramatic and vice versa. Many people criticize this movie because they say that when Sebastian falls in love, the story and movie goes downhill. I could not disagree more. I think this movie shows that people can change and that love can transform a person. It shows that what goes around comes around and if you do not have love in your life, you are a broken person. I also think it's amazing that the producers made such a beautiful and visually lush movie with a mere $10 million budget. It's kind of sad to think that this movie is out of most people's minds now because it is 4 years old, but I personally think it is a piece of cinematic art that should be remembered for years to come. I know this is high praise for a movie about a pair sexually manipulative teenagers, but that is how much it touched me.

Let me know what you think.

I also liked this movie a lot. It was wonderfuly done. I did like the fact Sebastian fell in love with Reese's character (can't remember her name--I think it was Annette.) I really do think it's a shame a lot of people also don't remember it. It's such a good movie!

Yes, her name was Annette. An interesting bit; I watched the director's cut also and he commented that they changed the ending a lot because many on the production team didn't think that Sebastian should die. Also, they originally shot the ending with him dying but not sacrificing himself for Annette; he just saw her across the street, started walking, and got hit by the car. It was more like he died because of her and not for her, so the ending was changed. I did cry when Sebastian died because I really grew to love his character, but I thought it was the way the movie SHOULD have ended so I'm not unhappy with it.

I look forward to more comments.

I like this movie ! But I don't have it neither in DVD nor in video tape ! I think I watched it 3 times (once in cinema, and twice with a rate)

I have it on video and i love the movie okay sure I'm a Sarah Michelle Gellar fan and I loved Kathryn and Annette complete difference the devious one and the sweet one i loved it.Cruel Intentions is one of the best movies ever

Wow! I didn't realize they had that much differences on the ending. I love watching the b-t-s stuff. Makes you truly appreciate all the work everyone does for a movie.

I know, I love behind the scenes stuff too. On the DVD, there is a whole 10 minute feature called "Creative Intentions" that tells all about the making of the movie. Also, you can watch the movie with the director's commentary and find out all of the interesting facts about making it. There are also deleted scenes including one that is very interesting; Sebastian actually does hit Kathryn, making her later claim to Ronald true!

Rent the DVD!

Cruel Intentions is actually one of my favorite movies and i think it was a good movie because it talked about reality and i liked that but some parts were just nasty  but still a good movie and i also like that music they play at the end of the movie with the violins i think they are violins :P

Yeah, it was played here recently too. I only got to see the last 45 minutes of it or so, but I absolutely loved it! I need to go buy the DVD. From what I saw, it just seems like a really good movie!

I've heard from my girlfriend, Nay, that they are terrible. That's what I have heard, there might be differences of opinion.

Hmmm....

I don't really like this movie.

I suppose it is okay as a teen film, but I have seen it a few times, and it never really grabbed me...

*gasp* I agree it's not the best movie but I thought it was a good movie like either 3 stars or 2 stars out of four. 2 and 3 suck because those movies aren't as good as 1....People shouldn't make sequels sometimes....
