Chapter 1
(Vaughn walks in. Sydney hugs him. Vaughn returns a light hug.)
"They doubled Francie." Sydney said, frowning.
"I know." Vaughn explained.
Sydney put a hand on her side. "What happened to Will, Francie? Are they dead?"
Vaughn smiled a little. "Will’s OK."
Sydney asked, "What? How?"
Vaughn sighed. "You. Sit down."
Sydney breathed heavily. "Vaughn?"
Vaughn ran a hand through his hair. "We thought you were dead . . . They asked me to come back to, um, to explain."
Sydney said in a panicky voice. "Come back from what? What are you talking about? Vaughn, why are you wearing that ring?"
Vaughn fought back a rush of tears. "Syd, since that night you were missing . . . you’ve been missing for almost two years."
Sydney choked back a sob.
"W..what?" she stammered. Vaughn looked at her with hurt eyes.
"You don’t remember do you?" Vaughn lowered his head. Sydney looked up painfully. Had Vaughn gotten married in her absence?
"Remember what?" She asked slowly.
"After you found out that Francie was a double. You got nursed back to health and..well…we, us, got married." Vaughn smiled weakly.
"I..I don’t remember." Sydney bit her lip.
"We think you went into a coma. Come on we have a hotel room. Let’s go." Vaughn stood up. Sydney followed him out to the car.

Sydney breathed in a sigh of relief. Vaughn grinned at her.
"But h..h..how did I get HERE. I mean..Sark..Sloane…someone?" Sydney asked, puzzled.
"We think Sark did it. He’s being tracked down right now. You know Kendall freaked when he found out you were missing. You’re really special to the CIA." Vaughn said, putting a hand on her shoulder.
"When are we going to find him? How?" Sydney asked.
"Before we go any further, we think we know where Francie is. She’s not dead."
"Oh my gosh! When did you find out?" Sydney asked, surprised.
"After you went missing, I scanned all houses on different computers." Vaughn sighed, "I quit the CIA when I couldn’t find you. But I found where Francie was."
"Where?" Sydney asked.
"France. She’s being held captive. Somewhere in Bart Henderson’s house. I was planning a way to get Francie, when your father said they found you. I joined the CIA tonight, again. We’re leaving tomorrow. We’re going in as House Inspectors."
"I’m gonna go to bed if it’s all right with you. We have a big day ahead of us." Sydney smiled. She felt as though she had a huge weight lifted off her shoulders.
"Goodnight." Vaughn said, hugging her.

Sydney pulled on a blue jumpsuit. She stuggled with the zipper because her hands were shaking so much.
"Vaughn. I need that blonde wig!" Sydney called, giving the zipper the last large tug.
"Okay. Hold on!" Vaughn called back. Sydney added a little blush to her cheeks. She gently pulled out a small contact case. Two green contacts were placed neatly inside. She took the out and hastily put them in. There was a knock on the door.
"Come in!" Sydney said taking out some lipstick. Vaughn entered the room. "What color do you like better?"
"Pink one." Vaughn laughed. He handed her a blonde wig. She took it from him and held it out before herself.
"I this the wig from Victoria King mission?" Sydney asked, smiling.
"I think so. But Kendall said the mission it should be tied back." Vaughn smiled at her.
"What is your wig?’ Sydney asked, tipping her head sideways.
"Oh. Well…um…ah…here!" Vaughn said holding it out.
"Red?" Sydney cried, laughing, "I like you better brown."
"Me too." Vaughn chuckled. Sydney gently placed the wig on her head and secured the bobby pins on it. Vaughn did the same. He pulled out a hat from a bag on the counter and put it on.
"Here." He said, throwing one to her. Sydney caught it and put it on her head. Sydney smiled and pulled the blonde hair into a loose ponytail.
"Let’s go get em." Sydney smiled.

Sydney knocked heavily on the door. She heard foot steps echoing on the hard tile floor. She shrank back behind Vaughn. A man answered the door.
"Le monsieur A Barré Henderson? " Vaughn said, in fluid French.
"Oui." The man answered
"Nous sommes Trois Inspecteurs de Maison d'Heure. Nous sommes venus Inspecter votre maison pour les insectes, les rongeurs, etc." Sydney cut in.
"Oh! Bonjour. Entre, entre!" Mr. Henderson cried. Sydney glanced at Vaughn and walked in after him. They set to work. Inspecting cupboards and other compartments.
