The flight seemed infinite, and he couldn't seem to think of anything else but Sydney. It had to be Irina... All those threats... And now she had finally taken action. Vaughn fidgeted awkwardly, attempting to find a more comfortable state. To his left, a hefty male had fallen asleep, snoring noisily, head tilted upwards. To his right, a young businesswoman typed away on a laptop, keys clacking loudly. Waving down a flight attendant, he requested a water. The blonde gave a broad smile, teeth dazzlingly white.

"Of course. Just a moment, sir."

He constrained a weak smile onto his features, leaning back in his cushioned seat, his mind drifting back to Sydney.

She gave his phone another attempt. One ring. Two rings. Four rings. He picked up.

"Hello?"

"What have you done with her?"

"I have no idea what you're…"

"Don't play dumb with me. I know you took her. You know she's a crucial part of this plan."

"Irina, we've been playing this game for over thirty years. It's time for us to quit."

"You can quit if you want. But I won't."

"Good luck, Irina…"

"Why did you take her?"

"Good bye..."

The line went dead.

---

Will's lids fluttered open, irises darting over his scenery hastily. Everything was dim, and he could barely make out the silhouettes of objects dotting the room, but it looked like he was in closed quarters. The door burst open--He made an attempt to detect who was entering, but had no success. The person approached him, the shadow looming over his ominously.

"Mr. Tippin, do you know why you're here?"

He shook his head, blindly looking to make out the stranger's features.

"It's because you are very useful to us at the moment. Do you know why?"

He again shook his head, giving up and lowering his gaze to the floor.

"It's because you knew Sydney Bristow. And do you know why that makes you useful?"

He shook his head yet again, having no clue what this man was leading up to.

"It's because we want to find Sydney Bristow. Do you know why?"

He sighed, shaking his head once more.

"Good. Let's keep it that way."
