What a stupid way to die. One bullet left in his gun, and by the sound of it, two guards in the hallway ahead. Swallowing, Vaughn pressed himself harder against the wall behind him, bringing his weapon to his chest, barrel upright. He looks down the hall he had just come from, seeing that there was, indeed, no escape. This would be much easier if he wasn't going on this undertaking alone. His tactics to request a team to assist in the op from Kendell were unsuccessful, so, he was left to endure this problematical mission alone. It would have been great if the operation wasn't this difficult and when he returned with Sydney, he could rub it in Kendell's face and request--no, demand--a promotion. But Lady Luck hadn't exactly been on his side so far, and she wasn't coming anytime soon. Well, it's too bad you're going to die before you get the chance to do that. Before you get to see Sydney again. Well, it's now or never Michael. On the count of three. One. Two. Three. He swung himself around the corner, revolver aimed straight ahead, eyes searching for a target. He lowered his handgun, puzzled. Hadn't he just?... Well, no matter. Continuing down the corridor, he silently calculated. Pick a door, any door? Was that really the best tactic in this case? Well, you have nothing to loose. Einy, meanie, miny… Mo! Grasping the doorknob of the second to last door on the right, he swung it open, gun sweeping over the chamber in a matter of seconds. Nothing. Well, let's try another. Okay, how about another. How about another. And another. And another. Well, this is just great, Vaughn. You're trapped in Santa Barba in a hallway full of doors leading to dead ends. Well, let's try the last one. That's what always works in the movies. Swinging open the final portal with a twist of the wrist, he brought his firearm to eye level and scowled. Bingo.

Irina's head shot up at the sound of someone entering, but it took a moment to comprehend who was there. Her cold gaze did not falter, but a unfeeling smirk met her features.
"I was wondering whether or not I'd be seeing you, Mr. Vaughn."
He simply glowered at her, muttering
"Where is she?"
Irina cocked a brow.
"Who?"
"You know damn well who."
"I don't know where she is."
"Don't play games with me! You took her!"
"I didn't. For once, I didn't."
"Liar."
"Mr. Vaughn, you've got to believe me."
"I stopped believing in you the day you killed my father."
She hesitated at this remark, obviously a little bit stung.
"I didn't take her, Mr. Vaughn. But I think I know who did."

"So, Mr. Tippin, you are willing to cooperate?"
"Yes."
Will eyes were dull and emotionless, body limp and fatigued. He was through fighting. He might as well give in. After all, they had the upper hand. Besides--Now it was personal.
"Now, Mr. Tippin, I am going to explain this once. Have you ever heard of a woman named Irina Derevko?"
