OK, so I cancelled my facebook a couple of weeks ago but not for the reason of graphic videos but because it got old.
But I was watching the news and different report about how facebook was allowing people to post graphic videos and other crazy thing and allowing young minors to view them. Well, I had to check it out and man I could not believe it, A woman being beheaded video! You have to be kidding!.
I cancelled My grand Daughters facebook right away. I am not religious by no means but I am a very protective grand parent!

What do you all think about what Facebook is doing?

What do you all think about what Facebook is doing?
I was a bit shocked and, having been exposed to a bunch of stuff online for many years, that doesn't happen often. I saw the headline pop up on a few news feeds during the day but figured at first that it must be a misleading title in order to get clicks; turns out I was wrong.

Facebook has departments that do nothing but censor posts for any number of objectionable content items and yet they decided to reverse an earlier decision and will allow beheading videos again? Crazy.

When I was a kid we didn't have the problem of crazy videos... There was no internet..lol:smiley:. But now I have to watch thing close when it comes to my grand kids.

And it looks like the public did not respond too well to the reversal because Facebook first said they were going to block them again but then issued a statement saying that, essentially, sometimes they'll allow it, sometimes not.

Facebook flip-flops over videos of beheadings

"People turn to Facebook to share their experiences and to raise awareness about issues important to them. Sometimes, those experiences and issues involve graphic content that is of public interest or concern, such as human rights abuses, acts of terrorism and other violence," the company said in a statement.

"When people share this type of graphic content, it is often to condemn it. If it is being shared for sadistic pleasure or to celebrate violence, Facebook removes it.

Its sad because there are so many young kids on Facebook and Facebook is subjecting them to all these crazy videos that could be considered porn or snuff films.
