Anyone else see Worlds? I watched men's on Thursday night... Tim Goebel was amazing! He was really on. But he placed second behind Yvgeny Pleshenko or however you spell his name (those wily Russian names  ), who I don't really like. He totally is full of himself! Ick.
I watched women's tonight. Michelle Kwan won. And I've seen her skate so many times over the past decade, and I think tonight's performance was her best ever. She had this presense on the ice that no one else had. Too bad about Sasha Cohen... but she's young. We'll be seeing more of her. And the Japanese woman who placed third... yay! Only, Dick Button messed up her coach and the coach's daughter's name (Sato and Yuka Sato). He pronounced it like "sayto" but the 'a' is soft. I have never heard anyone mess up that name before. I don't like Dick Button, he's really annoying.
Sergei Grinkov was a cutie. It's really too bad what happened to him. He was practicing with his partner, his wife, Ekaterina Gordeeva (they did pairs), when he had a heart attack. She wrote an autobiography about her and Grinkov's life together, called My Sergei. It's amazing.
