Glad you're back

Ok, this is my first fan fic, so if there's errors and stuff...that's why.
Also, I don't own any of these characters, I just write about them.
One last thing...this goes along with ep.19 Endgame.

GLAD YOU'RE BACK

Irina leaned forward onto the cold metal table, wincing in pain from the wound in her left arm. The words she had spoken, only a few days ago, rang in her ears. WE both had to make sacrifices. She wiped a tear from her eye. She never wanted to leave her cell at the CIA, or Sydney. Or even Jack. But she was doing this for them.

Arvin stepped into the room. Irina sat up straight again, pretending to write something down. "We lost Caplan," he began. "But he decoded the database. Sark is looking for the DNA now." Irina nodded absentmindedly. "Are you alright?" he asked in a softer tone. She ignored the question.

"Have they found us? The CIA, I mean."

"No."

"Good."

Sloane nodded and left the room. Little did he know, of course, that the CIA was closer to finding them than he believed.

Sydney tapped her pen against her notebook and bit her nail. Finding this warehouse Irina, Sloane, and Sark were in was harder than it seemed. Suddenly, her cell phone rang.

"Hello?"

"It's me," Vaughn answered. "We found the warehouse. Your dad wants you to come in."

Sydney breathed a silent sigh of relief. "Ok."

Irina finished cleaning up. She was exhausted, having to serve dinner to both Sloane and Sark. Sark wasn't the problem, though--it was Sloane. Belching, talking with his mouth full...Sydney had better manners when she was four. She sat at her table again, and put her head down. Closing her eyes, she thought back to the old days--Sydney learning to ride her bicycle, decorating the Christmas tree, and the toaster. Oh yes,she could never forget the toaster. She soon fell asleep with a smile on her face.

Gunshots came in the middle of the night. Sydney and Vaughn were taking down guards left and right. Sark, Irina, and Sloane were sleeping. Searching the first floor, they found nothing. They quickly climbed to the second floor. Sydney opened a door at the end of the hall. She stepped into a dark, well-furnished room. She saw something lying on the bed. She walked over to it, and saw Sloane. She stood looking at him for a moment. Sydney saw he wasn't breathing. Grabbing his wrist, she checked his pulse.

CHAPTER 2

He didn't have one.

After reuniting with Vaughn and telling him the news, the two agents raced down the stairs. They stepped into a large basement, immediately spotting Sark asleep on the floor. Sydney left Vaughn to handcuff him. Walking deeper into the seemingly endless basement, she looked for any sign of her mother. Turning a corner, she found Irina sleeping at a table. Sydney quietly took out a pair of handcuffs. After clasping one on, Irina woke up. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw her daughter. Irina lifted her head.

"Sydney," she began in a croaking voice. Sydney looked at her mother with wide eyes. She handcuffed Irina to the chair.

"I know I left the CIA to come here. But I had a good reason." Sydney took out her gun. "Sydney, just give me a chance to explain!" Irina pleaded. Sydney sounded the hammer, while Irina looked on with a wild look in here eyes. Sydney aimed the gun at her head. "God Sydney, please don't!" She was sobbing uncontrollably, with tears streaming down her face. "There's a reason I left the CIA, I SWEAR IT!" Sydney blinked.
"Go on," she said in a quavering voice.

Ok this one was short, but I'm starting Ch. 3 now. ^_^

CHAPTER 3

Irina sniffed before beginning her story. "When I was recruited to the KGB, I was just an analyst. As I moved up, however, my handler ordered me to begin studying someone named Milo Rambaldi. I did, of course. I had no other choice. I'm sure you're thinking, Sydney, that I became obssessed with the man. But that was not the case. I became curious, and wanted t ofind out if he was still alive. I decided to learn more.

"I was sent to America, where I met Slaone. I sensed something unusual about him. Getting to know him better, I discovered something. Learning I was researching Rambaldi as well, he asked if I might help him. I was quite hesitant at first. But I decided it would be best, and I agreed. Do you want to know what I discovered, Sydney?" Sydney swallowed.

"I discovered that Sloane is Rambaldi. You can check their DNA."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sydney was stunned. She took the gun away from Irina's head. "Why did you decide to join him, though?" Irina sighed. "I did it for you. I know how terrible he has been to you. I was outraged when I found out his secret. So I poisoned him with cyanide. I slipped it into his wine at dinner."

Sydney was impressed, of course. She unshackled Irina, who stood up and hugged her. They walked away to find Sark and Vaughn.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Irina walked, as she had 6 months before, to her cell, soaking wet from the rain. She was happy to be back, really. She sat on her bed, wondering where Jack was. as if reading her mind, she heard the buzzer and saw Jack. He was smiling, a very unusual thing for him. Irina got up. They looked at each other for what seemed like an eternity. Jack finally spoke up.

"I'm glad you're back."

:D Hey, not bad for the first fiction. Now what, with Sloane dead, who's the villain? Just wondering. (y) (y)
