My old pony strained her shoulder once. Stall rest for 2 weeks. She was not a happy camper.

I have a 3 yr old Appie and a 4 yr old Quarterhorse. Aspen and Willow. One time Aspen got a swollen knee and I had to cold hose it for an hour every night until it got better. that really sucked

Well... no horse show this weekend, thanks to this icky weather. BUT I got to ride outdoors for the first time this season yesterday... and then like an hour after I got home, it started thundering! Blah. But at least there was nice weather for a little while... and we saw a rainbow. Too bad my horse was a poke.

I love horses, I used to horseriding but after I discovered I was allergic to horses ! it sucks !!

There's a girl at the stable I ride at who is allergic to horses, but she still rides. She's fine for a while, but it's especially bad for her when the horses are shedding... she needs to run outside every once in a while and breathe. I'm so glad I'm not allergic...

all my freidns are really good at riding horses...then they have parties and all they want to do is ride horses and im just like...ummm...i have ummm the chicken pox...i uhh...dont wanna infect the horse...i better sit this one out lol

Aww you should give it a try!
And you can't infect a horse with chicken pox, silly.

To have a hores/beeing around with one is sometimes the best thing that can happen to you..I started my horse-obsession in the age of 4 and a half and riding in the age of 6 years

That's how I feel too! Just being around horses is so great. People think I'm weird 'cause I have like long conversations with a horse sometimes. I have pics of the horses I used to ride (the ones who died in the fire)... I'll get them into a photo album online soon and post a link.

Lucky... you got to start riding at 6? I didn't start until 10, and then I had to quit for a few years when I was 16, 'cause neither I nor my parents could afford it.

ohhh i want to ride soo badly. occassionally when my parents let me i go to my friend's sister's stable. their horses are soo pretty!!!!! and last time i went a mare was due with twins. i don't know what happend yet! but i want to go sooo badly after exams!!

that's the biggest problem- riding is so expensive.........
If i wouldn't ride regulary i think i would have gone crazy a long time ago
the riding kept/keeps and hope will keep me always grounded...
but there is one saying: "if you have animals you'll have sorrow....today and tomorrow..."and i must say it's true. It's really hard if your hores is ill---and if it's so you'll suffer with your horse...but when it's ok again youre so happy to embrace the whole world

i know that's maybe a little exaggerated(sp.?) but i think more or less it's true if you really love your horse

OMG, I went crazy for the like 2 years I didn't ride. I am a much happier person with horses. I wish my instructor would let me jump more, but my class isn't very advanced, so we spend all our time doing like turn on the haunches and forehand. It's kind of boring, but oh well! At least I'm riding...
