How to Create Wallpapers, Avatars etc.

I might be the only stupid one who wants to know this but I would really like to find out HOW TO CREATE wallpapers, avatars ect. If you know PLEASE TELL ME SO I CAN STOP USING OTHER PEOPLE'S !!!
