BOO! Hey, I'm back, sorry, but I REALLY didn't feel like typing this weekend. I think I was sick, and in no mood to type. Sorry. This chapter isn't as long as the other ones. A lot happens, but its not as long. Still pretty long though...
Anyway, here we go, to a far away land, where things are kinda confusing...
Your eyes open to a white room. This is wrong. You've never blacked out to wake up in the same room since this started... You look down, noticing pressure on your hands, and realize that someone is holding the left one. You look up and smile at Michael, who is sleeping in a chair next to you.
"I'm not asleep," he mumbles.
Or maybe not sleeping in a chair next to you.
"I'm sure you're not darling," you say smiling.
"I'm just resting my eyes," he insists, opening his eyes and sitting up. "You'd be tired too, if you spent the entire night up worrying about someone I love as much as I love you."
And you start to cry. Because this life is too perfect to be true. And you know you have to leave it, but you wan't as long as this man before you is there for you, as he always has been.
"Sydney, what's wrong? Does your head-"
"I love you so much," you interupt, voice low and hoarse. "And that scares me. I'm scared for you. I don't want to hurt you."
"Then don't," he says simply.
"It's not that easy," you say, almost pleading with him. "People get hurt in this world."
"And then people heal."
9 days later
"That was Kendall on the phone," says Michael, behind you.
You turn away from your steaming mushroom barley soup, already annoyed. "What did he want?"
"He decided that your sick leave was over 3 days ago. I tried to get more time-"
"Michael, it's fine, he's right." You turn back to your soup. "I've had way too much time off. Besides, I haven't fainted in over a week, it's not a problem."
Can you faint in your sleep?
"I just worry about you."
"That's not anything new." You walk over to him, and cup his cheek with your hand. "I'll be fine. I always am."
***
It was an in and out mission. Get some Buddhist statue from a museam in Vienna, Austria. You took out the guards, had gotten the statue without much problem. Alarms went off, of course, but there were no guards to stop you.
That's why it is such a surprise when someone kicks your feet out from underneath you. Your quick reflexes kick in, and you push yourself up, throwing punches and kicks at your attackers.
You are actually winning, when the dizziness you have become familiar with, starts coming back. You stop fighting, and run towards the doors, hoping to get out before you faint. But, the doors are locked, and the light is getting dimmer, as your attackers close in on you.
And then everything goes black.
So much for getting out.
Falderal and fiddly dee...
