[Existentialist]

I started playing flute in 4th grade... so that makes it almost 12 years! That's over half my life! :blink: I've been playing piccolo since 8th grade, too. In HS, I was in band and pep band and flute choirs, and I took private lessons. This past year, I didn't take any lessons or join a band, 'cause I didn't want to do community band. But in the fall, I'm gonna be starting up again. I've played the chinese flute before... it's fun.

Have fun at camp. Mine , for colorguard, starts next week. We have 4-8 pm that week then for the next 2 weeks after that we go from 8am to 4pm. BUT I get my license on the 18th!!!! yay!

I'm back from band camp now!!! We had lotsa fun. (Ya, if you can call marching, standing at attention, room inspections, and barely five hours of sleep a night fun. ) No, seriously though, it was great. Our squad leader threatens to beat us with her piccolo when we're code redding.

lol!!! your squad leader sounds like me! :lol: i always "threaten"(Jokingly though!! and all in good fun!) ppl with my picc! and i know what you mean about band camp, we had ours a couple weeks ago and it was soo much fun but you described it perfectly, little sleep, marching, except you left out one thing.....bad food!

The food wasn't that bad. It was okay. They served pizza a lot. I have band tonight. Fun fun fun. Death by piccolo is had by me. First performance is on Thursday. YAY!!

Yeah!! I passed my first test of high school today!! It was in band, but it still counts even though it is summer.

My dad said he'd buy me a piccolo for my birthday if I wanted one.

Okay, so now it's death by base drum. We were marching and the whole drumline was running smack into our nice little flute-clarinet squad. It was a disaster. And we have a preformance tomorrow!!!!

Hmm... for marching band there was a time I was considering switching to tenor sax.

Go band show!! We get to sit in our hot uniforms for hours and ride a hot bus down to a place an hour away. But then we get to kick the other band's butts. Hee hee hee.

Oh... I am sooo ticked!!! The stupid mass power outage cancelled our beautiful band show!! So I was sitting there for two hours getting my picture taken and getting all excited, and then the director comes out and tells us that we can't go. THen, he goes into a whole speech about how we need to work harder and we weren't ready anyway because 126 people failed. I passed four stinking tests!!! It is so not fair. :cuss: :madfire:
Sorry guys. I guess I like to use this page to vent sometimes. No band dancing for poor little me. (Sniff)

its all ok.
i've been having colorguard sectionals all week 4-8 but next week we start full band camp (SOOOO much better) 8am-4pm everyday except weekends for 2 weeks.
OHH! And monday my drivers license becomes valid!!!! I have my license, monday , yay!!!! :groupwave: :harp:

That's great Paula!!! Congrats. Sectionals are usually lots of fun (except for when you're with demon-flute lady )

I had a dream about playing the trumpet. It was wierd.
