Yeah, but then the whole premise of her struggling to find a place in her family would be shot out the window, and I think that that story line is kind of a cornerstone of the whole show.

I couldn't say, but there's this guy who sees me as his daughter and does all these fatherly thing to me. And whats more, he repulses me, I hate him. I feel like throwing up whenever I see him just so I have somethign to throw at him!!

Sloane has a relationship with rambaldi. It says on a website I think Michael Vartan's Sloane saw Syd whenever he could. Sloane also said to Sark he has been in her presence ever since she was born.

i've been wondering if it's possible that Sloane is Syd's father. and it is possible, but i don't think it's true. it would be interesting and i would explain more thoroughly his interest in her. but i don't think so. i think he has watched her very closely all her life and was really like a father to her when she joined sd-6 because Jack wasn't really much of a father to her. but it would change things too much if Sloane was her dad. i just don't see that it would true.

nahh I dont think that Sloane is Sydney's father but he definitely wishes that he could be. Him and Emily have never had children and Sydney is like the daughter that he never had.

I don't think Sloane is Syd's father -- although Sloane made a direct comment to Jack (I think something like "You know I gladly fill in for you" with a longer stare between the two of them) that makes us think that he may be Syd's father.

Then again, the story line has been that Sydney was trained as a kid to be a spy. Apparently Sloane knew this and wanted to recruit her. So this could be his abiding interest.... Who knows?

True..I said maybe. For one thing, I read recently in a past article (think March 2002) that Alias fans will have to think about Sloane's paternal obsession with her. The show never really got into that so maybe they'll put some insight on it soon or something. All the other things that were mentioned have already occured.

But in past conversations between Jack and Irina, she was always referring to Sydney as either his or our daughter. Maybe she's too smart to slip up, but still, you'd think if she was Sloane's daughter, she might have slipped up in some way.

In Firebomb, he said that she was his greatest achievement. I think he could possibly be, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see!

That's why I said maybe. But Sloane saying she was his greatest achievement could mean a number of things

1. He's her father and he's proud of her
2. He's made her into a great agent
3. He's made her life a living hell and he's happy about that

I think what he meant by her being his greatest accomplishment was that he's changed her into a totally different person. She's not as naive or innocent as she used to be. She's changed from being shy and doubtful of herself to this girl who could kick anyone's ass and boosted her confidence. He's introduced her to the evils and darkness of the world and she not only tries her best to stop it all, she comes out of it a better person. I dunno, am I making sense? I guess in short, Sloane sees her as his greatest acheivement because she went from this little naive college girl to a kick ass agent.

That would definately be a twist. An interesting twist. Especially if Sloane didn't even know that Sydney was his daughter. But I think Sydney & Jack & Irina's family life goes a lot deeper than what we see, and I highly doubt Sloane would be her father. But what if Sloane and Jack were brothers?
