Jack paced back and forth in front of the Debriefing room. He was waiting until Kendall emerged with information about Sydney. Finally, after 3 hours, the doors opened and Kendall emerged.
"Kendall!" Jack called, "What did they say? What the heck happened to my daughter over the past 2 years?" He said, frustrated.
Kendall sighed. "To give you a straight answer, we don't know. We wanted to ask your permission before we went ahead with it, but..."
"Went ahead with what, exactly?" Jack said, fuming.
"Hypnosis."
Jack's face turned red. "ARE YOU CRAZY? DO YOU REMEMBER WHAT HAPPENED LAST TIME WE HYPNOTIZED HER?"
"Yes, I do." Kendall replied calmly. "She found out that you had programmed her to be a spy using Project Christmas."
"I DON'T WANT TO TALK ABOUT THAT!" Jack yelled.
Kendall sighed once again. "It's our only way, Jack. Our only way."

Sydney awoke with a start. She looked arround the room. She didn't know where shen was. Sydney got up and went to find a bathroom. She splashed her face with cool water. All of a sudden, memories flooded back to her.
She had just returned to the United States after finding out that she had been missing for 2 years. She had also discovered the love of her life was engaged to another agent, and now she was in a CIA safehouse with Will Tippin.
Sydney sighed and pulled a robe on. She went to the front of the house where she found Will at the kitchen table, on the phone.
"Yeah...yeah. I got you. I'll tell her. Bye," He hung up.
"Hey," Sydney called, planting herself next to him at the table. "What will you tell me?"
"I have to go out today and they would like you to stay here. They want you in at 6 o'clock tonight but they won't tell me why." Will said. "I gotta go, but I'll see you later. Don't answer the door unless it is a CIA agent, such as: your father, Vaughn, Kendall, Marshall, Dixon. I think you get the point."
Will kissed herr cheek and left. Sydney poured herself a bowl of cereal and a glasss of orange juice. She started to take a bite when the door bell rang. Sydney frowned and went to see who it was.
Vaughn was standing on the front porch. Sydney turned away, disgusted. She sat back down to eat her breakfast, and heard the door bell ring once again.
"Sydney, I know you're here. Please, please just give me a chance to talk to you." He said.
Sydney reluctantly got up and opened the door. Vaughn smiled.
"Hey, Syd."
"Don't calll me that," She said, her eyes showed a hint of anger.
"Could I come in?"
"If you must." Sydney opened the door wider so he could come in. "what do you want?"
"To talk."
Sydney snorted as she returned to the kitchen table and her breakfast. She left Vaughn standing in the hall.
"So? Talk then."
Vaughn sighed and sat down across the table from her. Sydney didn't even look up from her cereal.
"Syd, I'm sorry."
"For what? Breaking my heart? Was it really real, the way you felt about me, or was it all an act? How do I know that you've been dating this woman for years..."
"Sydney, I loved you more than any woman I had ever known. You don't know how hard it was on me when you went missing."
"But you just gave up, didn't you?"
"No! I looked for you..."
"Well, not very hard. I'm sorry Vaughn, but this isn't a good time form you to be here. I think you should go."
Vaughn felt as if his heart had been sliced in half. He got up from the table and let himself out.
After he left, Sydney cried. She went to her room and cried herself to sleep.
