Learn Japanese

I'm Japanese, and I speak Japanese. ^_^

Ohio is actually "good morning." Kon'nichiwa is "hello." Oyasumi would be "good night."

Most of the stuff Lin posted is accurate, though cute is spelled kawaii. Most of you are speaking in the extremely formal form.

Example...

Watashi wa leah desu is formal.
Leah desu is the same thing, but in a more casual manner.

Unagi! Sorry...everytimes someone mentions Japanese or sushi...that eppy from friends pops into my head...when ross says that. My aunt tried to take Japanese for fun, but she couldn't handle it. A couple of my friends are taking it at myt school. Aside from Unagi...er...sayonara...and the good morning 1...i don't know very much.

 I love that eppy of Friends!

Japanese isn't something to really take as fun. It's quite time consuming.

Some more words... (my roman'ji- the japanese word using english letters- may not be so good, 'cause i'm so used to writing it in japanese)

gakko- school
ben'kyo- studying
urusai- noisy/loud (which is what my neighbors are)
chiisai- small
hon'- book
pan'- bread
gohan'- rice, also meal (asagohan is "breakfast" or more literally "morning meal"... hirugohan is "lunch"... ban'gohan is "dinner")
terebi- TV
on'gaku- music

Kon'nichiwa everyone!

Thx 4 pointing that out i just noticed it...kawaii (cute)
This is so much easier..sharon desu

I noticed when i watch jap anime...they use baka to curse...does it really mean - idiot?? :P

Ohhh the numbers... here we go...

re/zero
ichi
ni
san
shi/yon
go
roku
shichi
hachi
kyuu
juu

Yay! I like couting, lolz, that's about the only thing I can do properly! My friend actually went to do karate and she basically picked up the Japanese numbers when she was doing the patterns cos they have to count in Japanese! :D

I LOVE Japan! I only know a few words & a little bit of the writing system.

Isn't Kon'nichiwa also good afternoon, Existentialist?

I really want to learn a lot more some day

Kon'nichiwa is just a general "hello".

We have a new Jap teacher, she's nice and seems to know what she's doing which is always a plus! :D Doing lotsa self-intro stuff again, always find the sentance order a bit confusing but I think I'm getting there... ;)

Konnichiwa! Wait, Konbanwa! (Considering its night time here right now)

Hajimemashi te. Watashi wa Jessica de, Shidoni (Sydney) ni sundeismasu. Nihongo o chyu'gaku ni nensei kara koko san nensei made benkyo' shi teimasu.

That took me too long to write, I'm not use to writing in roman'ji...plus, 3 months of holidays not helping my japanese. ^_^

Jess, kon'nichiwa. ;)

Anata no nihon'go wa totemo jozu desu. Watashi wa nihon'jin desu. Dakara, uchi de nihon'go ga yoku sukaimasu. Demo, yoku kakimasen.

You're right, though, it's tough to write in romanji. And since I don't live at home anymore, my Japanese skills have plummeted.

i've learned jap for 10 years now..since primary school..

Were learning adjectives at the moment....so next time i bring my jap books home i'll put some words up ok.... ^_^

i know:
konichiwa
watashi wa ally desu.

and something about my phone number....bango denga wa.....something....
and i can count a bit...

this place is exciting- I like to speak a language I call- japinglish. it's a good one to speak. in 20 day nippon ni iku! i'm pretty excitied. sorry minasan, my japanese is pretty informal, just cause i don't want to write out all the correct endings......"watashi wa nippon ni ikimasu." nippon ni iku is easier.....
