Life AND Death

I'm looking for a film
I think it was B/W, 50's / Early 60's, Aliens give sets of three capsules to several humans, and tell us each set has the power/ability(?) of "life AND death" for humanity. It is thought to be a "doomsday" weapon.
To launch them, hold each in hand and say the Geo-coordinates that should be effected.
In the end, they kill the "bad" people and leave the "good".

The 27th Day (1957)
Approved | 1h 15min | Sci-Fi | July 1957 (USA)

Five individuals from five nations, including the "Superpowers," USA, USSR, and China, suddenly find themselves on an alien spacecraft. An alien gives each a container holding capsules. No power on earth can open a given container except a mental command from the person to whom it is given. Each person has been provided with the power of life and death. Any of these individuals has the capability to instantaneously launch the capsules to whatever coordinates he/she chooses, and each capsule will then eradicate all human life within a 3,000-mile radius of its designated location.

Were you already familiar with it?
Never heard of it. Now it is on my to watch list. Just got the bluray of Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (1961) so I'm gunna check that out first.
This movie likely inspired that more recent film The Box (2009) with Cameron Dias. Similar morality story with a different execution.
