(CIA Headquarters)
Jack hurried into the CIA. He walked fast to his office, and opened the door. He found Weiss already sitting there. Weiss stood the moment Jack entered.
"Jack, what's this about?" He asked curious
"Sit down!" Jack demanded
Weiss did as he was told. He could tell that Jack was upset, and he didn't want to make it worse. Jack shut the door behind him, and walked behind the desk, but remained standing.
"I know how agent Vaughn feels about my daughter." He said bluntly.
Weiss looked at him shocked. "I'm sorry sir, but I have no idea what you are talking about." He tried to say in a convincing voice.
Jack just stared at him. "I already spoke with agent Vaughn agent Weiss. I know you know." He said
Weiss looked scared. He didn't want to know what the all mighty Jack Bristow was going to do to him.
"I'm gonna need your help." He said
Weiss looked relieved for a moment. "What do you need?" He asked
"It's not what I need, it's what you have to do." He said
Weiss looked at him scared again. "What?" He asked less confident this time.
"You know that when agent Vaughn went missing three years ago, Sydney's attitude changed." He paused when he saw Weiss nod. "Now that agent Vaughn is back, you can say that my daughter is back." He paused and rolled his eyes as he said it. "Anyway, my point is, that Arvin Sloane has noticed this sudden change, and suspects something wrong with Sydney. The kind of attention that we don't need when we are so close to destroying them." He said
Weiss looked confused. "What are you trying to get at, sir?" He asked
His lie just keep on growing. "In order for Sydney's new attitude to disapear, I need the reason to disapear." He said
Weiss knew what he meant, and instantly shook his head against it.
"If I think I know what you are trying to get at, it's a bad idea." He paused "If you even think about taking Vaughn away from Sydney, you will kill her." He pleaded
"I don't have a choice. If I don't take him away, then they will both be killed." He yelled at him.
Weiss didn't know what to say. "Mr. Bristow, there has to be another way. You can't take away the only person that Sydney loves, trusts, and depends on." He pleaded again.
Jack gave him a hard clod stare at his last statement. "I have no choice." He said again firm.
Weiss shook his head. "There has to be another way. Vaughn and Sydney are great at what they do. And with Vaughn back, SD-6 will be gone in no time." He said
Jack slammed his hands on his desk. "Agent Weiss, just accept it. I have, Kendall has, and even Vaughn has." He yelled. He took a breath, and calmed down. "Look, I don't want to do this either, but it's the only way to insure Vaughn and my daughter's safety." He lied
Lie after lie just came out of his mouth. Weiss sighed being defeated.
"What do you want me to do?" He asked
Jack smiled finally getting through to him. "As we speak, Vaughn is being taken to a safe house here in LA. Here's the address." He said giving him a piece of paper. Weiss took it, and looked back at him. "Kendall, myself, and only you are the ones who know about this location, and it will stay that way." He said
He nodded his head. "So then who will be Sydney's handler?" He asked
"You." Jack said
"Me?" He asked
"Yes, you. You are the next closes thing to Sydney after Vaughn. I assume that Sydney will need you after she hears the news." He said
Weiss looked at him confused. "Whoa, whoa, whoa. What news?" He asked
"The news about Vaughn." He said
Weiss still looked confused. "Wait, I thought you said that Vaughn was just going to a safe house?" He asked
Jack nodded. "Yes, but Sydney can't know that. Only you can. The only way that Sydney will accept the fact that Vaughn is gone is if he is really...." He didn't have to finish. Weiss did for him.
"Gone." Weiss said sadly "When are you going to tell her?" He asked
Jack looked away. "I'm not." He paused. Weiss looked at him. "You are." He added in.
Weiss pointed to himself. "Me?" He said. Jack nodded. "No way Jack! I can't tell Sydney that. I can't lie to her. I wont do it." He yelled
Jack let out a sigh. "Well, agent Weiss, you don't have a choice. I'm not asking you, I am telling you to do it." He said
"Jack, you can't accept me to tell Sydney that the man she loves is dead, and in reality I know he isn't. I can't watch it, I can't do it." He yelled back
"You listen to me." He yelled. "My daughter's life depends on this so you better do it. It's only for a little while. When SD-6 is no more, we can bring agent Vaughn back. Sydney survived three years without him, she can handle a little bit longer." He yelled
Weiss covered his face with his hands. He couldn't do this. Not to Sydney. She just got him back, and now he had to tell her she lost him again. He knew that she wouldn't be able to take it. He just couldn't do it. The thing was he had to. Jack watched him struggle.
"Weiss, I know you don't want to, but please it's for her safety." He said trying to ease his worries.
"If it's for her safety...." He started as he put his head down. "Then I'll do it." He said disapointed in himself.
Jack smiled. "Good." He paused. Weiss looked back up. "Here's what happened. A half an hour ago, I paged Vaughn to meet me. After fifteen minutes went by the time he was suppose to meet me, and didn't show I contacted Kendall." He paused Weiss nodded. "That's when Kendall gave me the news. When Vaughn was on his way to meet me, a truck driver ran a red light, and plowed right into Vaughn. His car flipped over, and shortly after it blew up into flames. Vaughn was inside." Jack said
Weiss didn't even want to hear it. He didn't know how he was suppose to tell it to her. "Sydney would want proof." He said
"I know." He responded. "I will have dental records. Everybody still thinks Vaughn is dead anyway, so it will be like he never came back." Jack finished
Weiss cringed at the words Jack spoke. "Help Sydney to understand, and make sure that she will be stable to continue on with working." He said
"Your asking to much." Weiss said
Jack dismissed his comment. "I have already paged Sydney, and she's on her way back to the CIA. I need you to go to the Warehouse. I will send Sydney there, and then you can tell her the news." Jack said
"That's not a lot of time Jack." He said
"We don't have time. Just get there, and get the job done. You better go before she sees you here." He said walking to the door.
'So now it was a job,' Weiss thought. He couldn't believe what he had to do. To Sydney, and to Vaughn. He got up, and made his way to the door.
"Thank you Weiss. I really appreciate you doing this." He said
Weiss stopped, and for the first time gave him a cold stare. "Don't thank me." He paused "If I wasn't ordered to do it, I would have walked out of here the moment you said it." He said then walking out of the door, and on his way to the warehouse.

Sydney pulled into the CIA parking lot. She wanted to see Vaughn again so bad. She missed him. She couldn't believe he was back. He friend, her angel, her lover. She wouldn't ever be lonely again. Now he was back, SD-6 will fall even faster, and they could finally be together.
She walked into the hallway, and near he desk. Jack spotted her, and walked up to her.
"Sydney!" He called
She looked up and smiled. "Hi dad." She said
"How did the meeting go?" He asked
"I have another mission, but I think it's the big one dad. I think if I get it, it will lead to the take down. I just have to run it by Kendall later." She said
"Good." He responded
Before he could get another word out, Sydney cut him off.
"Have you seen Vaughn?" She asked
He shook his head. "No, but I heard Weiss needed to see you. Something about it being important. He said to meet him at the warehouse." He said
She looked confused, but just shrugged it off. "Oh, I will meet him later. I need to find Vaughn first." She said trying to walk away.
Jack grabbed her arm, putting her to a dead halt. Sydney looked at him, and then her arm. He put a serious face on, and in a concern voice responded.
"Sydney, you need to see Weiss. Go!" He said letting go of her arm, and walking away.
Sydney watched her father leave, and concern ran through her veins. She could feel something was wrong, and she knew it concerned Vaughn. She grabbed her keys, and her purse, and ran out of the CIA.

Weiss waited in the warehouse. He paced back in forth. How could he be doing this. Sydney didn't deserve this no matter what. Jack and Kendall could find a different option, I'm sure it didn't have to get to this. He thought to himself.
'I can't do it, I wont.' He said
He was about to leave, until he heard Sydney's shoes click against the pavement. He had to do it now. It was his job.
He gulped as he came face to face with Sydney, and the concern look that she had.
It was now, or never. He picked:
NOW!
