That happened on my teams too!!! I am so glad I wasn't the only one, that line "you need to play for yourself," what ever happened to the word team? People tend to stab each other in the back to get more floor time, more attention, I don't know why though. I would always be on the A team, always get the ball etc. but I was the only one who worked, we stunk, I talked to the coach and rearranged teams for an experiment, it was amazing what a change happened! We won, we worked, etc.
Man atleast your coaches listened to you. When you are a good player you can't just ask your coach to sit out because you don't want to be a ball hog. But i also know what it is like to sit on the bench. In our last tournament we were down 45 to 50. Well my coach wouldn't put me in. The last 2 minutes she decides i can go in and guess what? I KICKED A**! I stole the ball a few times and made a few baskets, i mean i was all over the place. We still lost but you know what made me really mad is that someone tried to hold me back and when they finally let me go in i threw it in their face. It feels good to prove someone wrong! Oh yeah and all the people on the floor in that game were all on the "A" team, everyone on "B" team got about a total of 3 minutes of playing time.Nad said:
One year we had 25 girls on the team, let's just say that B team got no playing time whatsoever, I felt bad for them, and that is why I stepped in, what is so annoying is the A team feels they should play they have the "right and skill" whatever! You put a B team member in and they kick butt showing the coach what they can do when given the chance and they work harder than the A team, it took a lot of time to finally be able to suggest the rearrangement with our coach, a lot of time working my butt off 200% so she respected what I had to say, she wasn't happy but decided to try it out anyway.

interesting...the only sport where there is something like that, is the cheerleading, drill team, and hip hop team. everything else is fair as far as i can tell. the same coach coachs all three sports above ^. you get in based on performance, but also on who you know on the team, and if the coach likes you. i think you're also judged on this other thing but i'm not sure...anyways, i could probably be a cheerleader if i wanted to since i know a couple people on the squad and am kind of friendly with them, along with the fact that the coach loves me! its probably because i've been in her HR for the last two years, and I've been her gym class for the last three years. so, she knows me and likes me for some reason.

so is mine! she's one of those really b****y teachers that just yells at everyone. but for some weird reason, she has decided she likes me..maybe its cuz i've been in her class all three years for gym, and i've been in her HR 2 years...but, she's so nice to me, that it scares me. and then, my friend gave her a picture of us and she came over to me all smiling, and happy, and it was like, whoa...wth happened to you? she is really scary when she's all like that...for some reason, teachers just like me even if i dont do or say anything to them...i mean, in one of my classes, i just talked the whole period with my friend and the teacher still gave me an A E E...its just weird.K.
