Random Blarghs

yeah, i think that another thing is how come he's always in a good mood around Francie and Will? does she save her frustrations for work? and how come she's never shows that she's mad when she's at SD-6? strange stuff...

I guess it can be accounted to the fact that sydney is good at hiding her emotions and not telling anyone what she is feeling. as for the whole periods thing, mentioning it and making it not comical only will make the entire show more real. come on, when has she said to vaughn or sloane, "not now...im menstruating?" there has to be some episodes where it shows how much the CIA or SD-6 sux without her or what they do in the event that she's not able to act.

sorta gonna go off on a tangent, but whatever, that's what this whole thread is anyway, right? just wanted to point out that millions of women are perfectly capable of functioning while they're menstruating so i don't see why sydney would be any different. yes yes, she's a double agent who's gotta physically kick a** a lot, but obviously female athletes/cops/firefighters menstruate as well and are just as physical and don't appear to have any problems. so i don't think menstruating would put sydney out of commission each month.

you know, there are other ways to show the cia and sd-6 how much they'd suck without sydney OTHER than her period. like, oh i dunno, her being captured? hey, if she was captured, who do you think would come to her rescue first? sd-6 or the cia? and what would happen if both came? although i'm sure jack would know somehow, but still. that'd be interesting.

Really, what does Jack say to Sloane?!? That has always bothered me. He always says "i took care of sloane" or whatever. But what does he say? Syd's not feeling well? She's stuck in traffic? What?!? :banghead:

thanks, syd4747! yes, bridget jones is quite the hilarious book. :D sorry for the off-topicness as well.

oh okay, no here's something sort of on-topic. you know how TPTB have used the number "47" a lot to emphasize important things? like, page 47 and...well, i can't remember what else, i just know the number pops up a lot. anyway, does anyone watch star trek on here? [if i'm the only one, i'm going to feel like a huge nerd and take it back.] but they used the number 47 a lot too. why is that? is there really some great cosmic importance to the number 47? or is it just a lot of people's favorite number?

okay, one more thing, i'm sorry, this has nothing to do with anything, but i really like this emoticon: :banghead: that's all. i'll go away now. bye.

haha...crazy spinster...just stay...your posts are sweet...about the number 47..i'm guessing the director has a fetish or is 47 himself. anyways...about this whole menstruating thing...you realize how much pain they go through right? though some women don't show it...i find it hard to believe that sydney is one of those women...come on...they're making her TOO perfect then...sure...she's made a couple mission mistakes...but their has to be a bodily thing that's wrong tool.

I asked this on a different thread, but i will ask it here as well....my blargh of randomness is this: i want to know if micheal vaughn was originally a different name ( in the planning stages of the show). On the first episode Vaughn's name plate on his desk said "C. Vaughn" on it. This is really bugging me!!!! :banghead: So pleeeeeeease if anyone knows tell me and save me from my insaneness, etc. :D

I am a little disturbed that you really think a woman can't do her job just because she has "that time of the month". Yeah there are some women that get really emotional and cramps but alot of women you would never know when "that time of the month" is for them. I am a little surprised that someone in this day and age that watches a show like Alias (a kick ass show at that) would still have your line of thinking.

I could have swore that in one of the featured topics talking about things you might not know about alias or something like that that someone mentioned that Vaughns original name was going to be Clay instead of Michael. Does that sound right to anyone.

I try to model myself after Syd in some ways and it works really well. Her clothes don't break my school's dress code. She has a cool name, we have the same color hair, I have a SLIGHT resemblense to her, I can now masks my feeling when I need to, I get even better grades than before and people's mean comments about me don't get to me. Alias: Recruited is like the bible for me! :D
That is exactly the same for em. After reading recruited I coul so relate her life to mine!!!!

i think that tv isn't always perfect but don't mind watching something that isn't true to life all the time. its more intersting sometimes

As long as this thread is back in use again, I might as well bring up something that I thought of the other day. Has anyone noticed that they haven't been using as many "extreme close-ups" in the episodes recently? I noticed during the rerun of Cipher the other night that they were still doing it then, (like close-ups of Syd and Irina that were so close their faces didn't entirely fit into the frame). That used to drive my dad crazy when we watched, because we have a big tv and it made their faces look SO huge. But I haven't noticed that they've done that as much lately. I wonder why? And has anyone else noticed it?

That is so awful that y'all think that women can't do their jobs when it's that time of the month. I had finals during my time of the month Do that mean i don't have to take them? Syd is supposed to be one of the best agents so she doesn't mess up that much. I know it's not realistic, but the majority of tv isn't. Syd is always sayin gshe was just looking for the bathroom t oget out of trouble, but have you ever seen her actually go to the bath. NYPD BLue and Ally McBeal are about the onlt shows to she the bathroom. Also I love Bridget Jones. SHe's more like me than Syd. WHo doesn't need to loose 20 lbs and always says the wrong things at the worst times. And go back to the alcohol forum you do see Bidget smashed.
